Bumped in to the local muscle again; Don, or whatever his name isn't. He threatened to "break my face like glass" unless I bought this second hand CD player off of him. It looked dilapidated. "I've already got one" I said "it's better than this one because it has a lid that you can press down". He frowned. "buy the player or say a prayer!" he said rather impatiently.

I gave him a 50 for it. He said that was a fair price because he had to haggle it down from a 100 off a market stall owner that had told him it once used to belong to Jamie Theakston. I didn't argue. I just wanted to get home. It was spitting down and the rain was occasionally dripping down between the back of my neck and the inside of the jacket and sliding down my back. Soddiing weather.

A 50 quid richer Don scurried off and left me to walk home finally in peace.

To be continued...

Ken may have been a 'legend' in the house but I have had meals that lasted longer than he did in there!

FINALLY! someone that empathises with me. This means you have compassion. How much are you selling your compassion for? I can already tell you it will be chicken feed to me.
