Over the last few years BB have had many Gay men as h/mates.

But although they all differ slightly, they are all the stereotypical gay guy.

Where's the Straight-acting ones? The Scally lad ones? The Ones which don't mince and prance around?

Nah never! If they dont scream, clap, or dance or wear a dress then it would be
just to confusing for the viewers. Every thing has to be black and white in BB LAND.

i have to agree with you
the huge majority of gay men do not mince and prance
but we don't notice those ones
we only notice the charlies and the brian dowlings
and it makes us think that all gays are like that
and big brother only perpetuates that mistake

I reckon you've hit the nail on the head (erm...so to speak).

BB likes its stereotypes, it would be nice to see them break the mould.

Dan BB5 was probably the least camp/dramatic. I loved him.

Freddie is probably the closest to a straight acting gay. Chuckyegg said it all.

Gerry was aware that he had been put in the house to show a non-stereotypical gay.

The problem is that to get yourself noticed in auditions, you have to become more outrageous. Gay so called 'ordinary' men probably audition but are considered too boring for the show. Just a thought on my own words; she may not be gay but Hira is the most uninteresting HMs ever so how the heck did she still got in the house?

Completely see what your saying mate you are right though, they do prance around fluttering there eyes.. to be honest though I think Charlie is not too bad but when he gets excited it just shows he is a prancer :/

If theres another BB next year id like to see all straight people in,it pises me off BB blatantly trying to manufacture a first gay romance.Who cares.

This guy was great. I'm not homophobic but I am sometimes irritated by camp behaviour (I don't put up with women or children screeching their heads off, why does not tolerating it from a gay man make me a homophobe?).

I don't find Charlie that camp at all and I'm never irritated by anything he does. (I'm not a fan though, but that's down to the fact that his personality and wit are below zero. Not a very clever chap, but nice enough.)
