Rodrigo has cited Halfwit's role in the shopping list as the root cause.
"We definitely took everyone's views into account, we just didn't get enough butter," Halfwit retorted angrily to Rodrigo's accusation.
Rodrigo turned to Dogface, asking "Did they ask you, Dogface, about the shopping?"
"We sat..." Dogface began to explain, but Halfwit went off on one.
"Oh shut up Rodrigo," he spat and turned his back.
"You shut up," Rodrigo shouted back. "Who do you think you are to talk to me like this?"
"Rodrigo, we spoke with everybody," shouted Halfwit, smacking his hands down on the table. "I really can't be bothered," he added. "You weren't actually having a conversation with me. You weren't listening to a word I was saying, you just tried to draw somebody else in."
Halfwit was right, Rodrigo wasn't listening any more. He was more concerned with being told to shut up.
"Don't tell me to shut up," he said over and over again. "I never, never told you to shut up."
Minutes later, Dogface was out in the Garden telling Lisa, Marcus and Charlie all about the mini row. This got the Garden conversation onto the Shopping List and -specifically - the large amount of eggs on it.
"The eggs are £1.23," said Marcus, clearly upset.
"We don't really need eggs," said Dogface.
"That's Tom asking for the eggs, 'cause he wants the protein and stuff like that," Marcus explained quite rationally, before succumbing to the temptation for a snipe. "Then Noirin will automatically agree with him 'cause she's bum-licking him and then everybody else will agree with her because she does the Shopping List and the cooking."
