I think he wants to see if Noirin really likes him ore not, if she likes him she would move away from Marcus, not date Sivash and that would give Tom the picture to make his move.

With Bea blabber her mouth and telling him about Siavash and Marcus on his case, I do not think he could make a rash decision about Noirin inside the house at all, thus we have our reason for his exit.
