Thats not strictly true, they ask housemates to sleep on it, if the housemate is still of the opinion they want to leave there and then, they ask them to wait while things are prepared for them. If the housemate said no I want to go out and go out now, they cant stop them, its called false imprisonment once the housemate decides they want out.
