Something like 1000 votes separated Alison and Alex (when they were getting millions every week) and Alex was in the lead to be evicted when the show started. Alison ended up being evicted. And I think Jonty in BB8 remained in the house by 0.1%

Jade was against Victor and Jeremy. so she got over half the votes. Not close.

Good point - that had escaped my memory as just was so elated with that one as DS Forum had Victor dead n buried with 75% or so

how the **** did orlaith knock out science? she was such a snotty little bitch and science was a legend and potential winner, how he was evicted is beyond me.

I think it'll be very close between Noirin and Marcus, not as close as Science vs. Orlaith though

Not true. In BB8 both Jonty and Kara Louise got 30.8% each (with Tracey getting the rest). In a double eviction Jonty survived by literally a few votes.

wow - I read the 0.5% on another forum the other day, didn't know it was that close
Why did they publish Jonty's???????? - they never do this........think eviction 1 last year, we don't know if Steph went by a margin of 0.1% as Luke, Lisa and Mario's percentages weren't disclosed.

I think because people would most likely add it up anyways, Davina told Kara too that she was 0.2% from staying because Jonty was only 0.1% behind her when the votes closed

It's interesting how the number of close calls has decreased in recent years. What do you think that means?

30.8% and 38.4% were the figures released by Channel 4, leaving 30.8% for Jonty. It was probably something like 30.83 and 30.77.

Lol, but as Tom said it was actually 30.8% each but with a few votes between them, Kara must have went with like 5-10 more votes lol

Looking at the odds, I don't think Noirin v Marcus will be that close.

If they left the Isaac thing alone then it would have been a vote of 51-55% either way but now its probably going to be a landslide in favour or Noirin

So what kind of percentage do you imagine under the changed circumstances?

Yes, why are they more reluctant to reveal the %s than in the old days?
Has the audience become more innumerate?

Somewhere between a 70/30 and 90/10 split

I understand they can never reveal the actual numbers of votes cast as that could conceivably leave the door open for a betting syndicate to calculate the likely level of vote rigging necessary to effect a betting scam in a future close call..............but I've never understood why they can't give percentages for all candidates in all contests.
The Steph/Mario/Luke/Lisa for example. I'd have been intruiged to see how close it was between Steph and Mario, since the forums were calling for his guts and predicting he'd go by a landslide.

"It's interesting how the number of close calls has decreased in recent years. What do you think that means?"
I'm not sure that is true but if so here's a possible theory.
These days, within a day of knowing those up for eviction, we have access to several polls online. If they are showing one HM 10 or 20% ahead anyone thinking of voting for the second placed HM will probably not waste their money. In the early days nobody knew until Davina's Friday announcement how the votes were cast and so supporters might keep voting to the end.
It was so much more exciting then, maybe tomorrow will see a return to that level of anticipation.

Tom, I would have thought that the (unfortunate) introduction of Isaac could move the vote either way.
As a fan of both N & M I can see a good case for keeping N in to face up to the consequences of her wonderful playfulness.

Good point. Internet has really changed BB. I think the decrease in ratings might be in part down to Internet too.

To intrude
The backlash across all the forums to the move and the disgust people felt at Nora's behaviour on LF suggests to me you are way off the mark - Nora is dead and buried for sure.
BBLB was an early indicator of the reaction of Joe Chavhead when the audience gasped at her snogging Isaac.
The gambling community have also spoken by putting their money in heavily today - hence her rapid move from close to evens to as much as 1/8 currently.
She's deader than a dodo.

I think that should say "fortunately" - a majority of Irish Members of the forums I've used seem embarrassed and angry about her.
