QUIRKY Eugene Sully has shot to instant national fame by entering telly's infamous Big Brother house.
Eugene, 27, from The Paddock, Pound Hill, joined the Channel 4 reality show on Friday (June 24), and made his grand entrance with just a fig leaf to preserve his modesty.
He started in a secret room with two other contestants but has now joined the rest of the housemates in the main house.
Eugene worked as an engineer
before entering the house and says he is single, an atheist and a virgin.
Eugene's mum Janet Sully is a West Sussex County Councillor for Bewbush, Gossops Green and Southgate.
She said: "My thoughts are with him – it's a tough, tough situation he finds himself in but it's always a good idea to test yourself.
"I was very surprised that he got through as a reserve as there is such a lot of competition and I was astounded that he made it on the programme.
"There are quite a lot of difficult characters in the house but Eugene is very honest, bright and capable and is very skilled at people management so we're keeping our fingers crossed. He's actually quite a serious person. He's been interested in all aspects of TV and radio since he was three-years-old but I think he would like to be more in the front as a TV
presenter."
Janet added: "I think that people who have been in the house longer will win but I'm hoping that he'll last a fair few rounds.
"He has a lot going for him. It will do Crawley the world of good to have Eugene representing the town in the house."
