Rodrigo disappointed him by following the mob and turning against Noirin. Charlie had words with him and Rodders went off on one.

You have to remember Noirin's recent story was Charlie's ultimate Romantic Story. He wants his ex to come into the house and say, "I made a mistake, I love you and I want to be with you". Charlie does have feelings for Rodders and likes him 'as a friend'. There is a tension there because he doesn't want to be cruel and risk hurting his friend by letting it drift into being more.
