the hms are really planning on doing all this stuff for charity or is it all for the viewers....
Is Charlie going to sponsor families in Africa & is Marcus going to possibly move there? Maybe they felt bad after Bea was talking about seeing some of the living conditions over there..
Was Bea helping out or just seeing the way rice etc is grown? I kinda tuned out!

Bea was talking about what she saw on a tv show, which obviously means she knows everything about the countries involved. It was a show on bbc about some young adults who went to south east asia to see how food was produced.
Who knows whether they'll actually do it, from personal experience i wouldn't change a minute of the time I spent in south east asia and the voluntary work i did.

This is the sort of thing I love about this forum, the way forumites judge the HMs by their own standards. Cynicism is poisonous.
Do them the honour of judging them at face value.

Careful now MissKitty will say you are only saying that to make you look good, because in her experience, noone actually does these things.

Lol are you kidding me!!!!
The way she was talking I was sure it was herself ....I was even thinking good things about her for a minute!
Fair play to you a_ ...I think everybody should take a chance & do something like that..It really does bring you back down to earth & change what you used to take for granted.

So the two years I spent outside the country were all a dream.....damn....bloody good dream though
Cheers Golden, nah it was all based on blood, sweat and takeaways....it was a really interesting show, but I was trying to explain in another post the way she talks about things she's seen or been told as if they are her own experience and she knows everything there it to know about it annoys me.....gets in to the whole things of knowledge and knowing.....anyhow enough of that.
Yeah certain situations and experiences are pretty humbling, helping to build accomdation so people have some form of shelter, or getting in a classroom and trying to give the kids some basic level of education. The biggest thing i took away from it was the sense of community out there that we don't have over here, materialistically they had very little, yet some of the people I met where a hell of a lot more content than anyone i know in england.
I think Charlie would be great doing something like teaching abroad, he's got a real enthusiasm the kids could feed off.

I went to live in a third world country for six months helping local people living in poverty. Living in the countryside in a village where the majority of people were poor was a life changing experience.
I may be wrong but most of the housemates have gone into the BB house for instant fame and to indulge their egos. Egotistical people wanting fame on the back of a programme like BB are so wrapped up in themselves I can't imagine them giving any thought the 'have nots' of this world once the media circus grabs them after leaving the show.
Their promises of doing good on camera is for the camera and unlikely to happen when they leave the BB house.

It really is eye opening isn't it. Some of todays kids could do well to be sent there as school projects or something like that..

I doubt it.. It's not like the average person can't give to charity even if it was just a little, so what's changed now? They're on TV and want to set an example (win on the principal that the viewers know the money will be well spent), but we won't hear about it afterwards.
