No real bohemian would do anything as crassly commercial as Big Brother.

When did she say she was a hippy?

Bohemian and Hippy are two very different (well similar at a base level) views, and shouldn't get mixed up as being one.

I would say I have a little bit of each in me, but they are different aspects.

Unless she has said she's a hippy then she's not (and free love doesn't make a hippy).

Anyone else remember the TechnoHead tune 'I wanna be a Hippy and I wanna get stoned?'

I generally have compare de meerkat dot com in my head, so this is quite a welcome change actually...

Or in the night garden..

Yes...my name is iggle piggle...iggle iggle iggle iggle piggle...:blush2:

I find In the Night Garden very creepy, I can't watch it without getting a little freaked out, obviously I only watch it in certain 'moods' but it still is just a little chilling.

Their is a guy at work who can do the meerkat voice perfectly, he does it all the time, but its still amusing.......

I don't drive, so car insurance adverts make me want to destroy the world. The Meerkat one is the first I can deal with. Simples.

I think its ridiculous.

Its a program made to help children develop, yet all they say is macca pacca...iggle piggle and ninkynonks. none of those are actual words. When my stepson who is 2, says these I feel like slapping him :cloud:

However it is better than him swearing...his mam dropped him off the other day, i took him to tescos, and he yelled at the top of his voice at some random old man to '**** off'...i have never been so embarassed before in my life...

she's a total fraud, and if she is so against all fiction she has missed out on some great literature and film.

stupid girl, she doesn't know how to shut up and like the sound of her own voice too much.

sometimes she can speak sense but what I hate is her lecturing, patronising "I know best" tone.

Isnt it...there would be holy hell on if there was a car insurance just for blokes.

But its the same the otherway round, there are working mens clubs, that dont allow women in, but if there was a club that ONLY allowed women in, there would be hell on there also.

You want another sexist advertisement? Try the new one for those Dell laptops on sale at PC World. You can buy them in different colours so of course the first thought that any woman has is buying a laptop to match the colour of her shoes or jacket. Who cares about the processor or screen quality when you can get it in a cute pink. Absolutely awful advert. I was sitting there watching it with my wife and we could hardly believe it.

In fact, on average women cause fewer accidents and require fewer payouts from insurance companies. That is precisely why there are car insurance deals for women only.

Must admit I havent thought a lot of Bea since she first went into the house, i still think she is a BB plant.

Last night though was comical, apparently Men didnt land on the moon, but the best one was not so much a rant about the playstation generation being lazy, increases in obesity levels in children through lack of exercise or anything that showed even a hint of a logical thought out arguement, oh no not for our Bea.

Last night's conversation included the fact that Bea thought the internet , TV DVD's etc were all part of the worlds governments plans to get the masses to accept their rule.

For such a supposed intelligent woman she really is a furking ******.

Oh and just a thought, if Bea and the Dark Horse do get to play hide Mr Wobbly, would it be classed as Beastiality?

She still made intelligent points and some brilliant links; like linking how people cut off from a group environment they're dependant on, are then vulnerable to being isolated and influenced by technology. Just like lonely, bored, confused people in a social setting can easily be taken under someone's wing. She also highlighted the difference between a follower who faces these issues and a free-thinking indvidual who is less susceptible to screens/leadership/commands.

I agree Marcus was amazing in this conversation and made the best points, and saw things more impartially than Bea. It didn't seem to 'hit her' that a lot of people isolated away on screens now simply have an avenue to offload their personalities, whereas before few even knew about them. And also that often, people feel forced and pushed into this corner ... not everyone is in the cool crowd and 'invited out', like Bea idealises.

It's very easy to summarise a 2 1/2 hour convo to highlight any point you want to make!

It was a brilliant conversation, very deep, intellectual and fascinating, between two intelligent people. I loved it and watched it all!

I do agree that in general, I sided with Marcus moreso. Bea is a little stubborn and too narrow in her perception at times, despite her intelligence.

Awesome convo though. As usual, you can always move any discussion towards social dynamics and the fight for humans to survive and reproduce. :spin2:
