Why does it still show that this person has posted?

Surely if you are ignoring them, you dont want to know that they have posted....it really winds me up to see the same person over and over again in my threads, when I am attempting to ignore their existence as they talk cr*p generally.

Rant over...i do think they should change this though :laugh:

Best way to deal with such things vicky is to not really put them on ignore as in the tool but to just ignore them in general. Or just tell him/she what you think of him/she.

Right just back from walking the dog. the reason the forum tells you the person has posted is so if it appears regularly atfer you post on threads, you can undo the ignore and look and see if all they are doing is posting counter to yours, they could post bet you cant find an answer to this because you know its true, if later you then post on the same thread but appear to be ignoring the posters dare it looks like they have made a point.

its far better to not ignore someone and just ignore what they say mentally. mind you if its set up properly the u2u's will not get through from the person you put on ignore.

Its the setting used when setting up the forum initially, however it can be changed if needed later.

one piece of advice I would give is never u2u them to try and sort things out, if you later comlain they have a let out clause by saying you started the convo in u2u etc. if however they do u2u unsolicited and they offer abuse then just report them to a mod and forward them the hate mail.

It is hard i know to ignore when someone is deliberately baiting , its often better just to report them, dont rise to their baiting on the forums themselves , they often get bored and move onto someone else.
