Ironically those misusing the word are by definition perverts themselves! Only when it is applied to sexual interests does it become sinister and although it does cover all the nasty stuff including kiddy fiddling, tarmacing and tourture-rape it also applies to homosexuality and herein lies the double standard. I don't see people calling Lisa, Charlie, Rodrigo and David perverts.
