Not really. He actually said it was a bit of pocket money.

Plus he justified his 'claim' by saying he was looking for work at the time which says that he was aware of what the dole was i.e. a source of money (pocket money).

some say that his statement was about the dole being a miniscule amount to live on i.e. political concern etc.

It was simply a slip of the tongue on his part which shows that he is as open as anyone to a bit of dole sponging, despite him being v.wealthy.

Nah when "...gate" came into common parleyance it first referred to a scandal and a cover up, nowadays it generally is used to describe a scandal, as in "Bunnygate"

He said he was on the dole for a very short time before he went to Uni. Whats the problem? It's likely his parents pay a sh!t load of tax so why shouldn't he get something that he was obviously entitled to? Also he lives with his parents so probably didn't pay for rent or food. Either way it's none of our business and ridiculous to be speculating and pointing fingers.
