Why do people hate Charlie?

The one thing I will never forget is when he was in the diary room nominating and he was farting around pretending it's too hard to nominate and then when brought up on it, nominated exactly who he was going to nominate anyway.

Plus the time he was looking at the back of the diary room chair instead of nominating.
Plus the time he soaked Angel's newly made outfit.
Plus the time he grassed on the others to Karly and Kenneth
Plus the time he stole the booze with Kris off the others.
Plus the time he looked angry when Hira was voted Most Entertaining.

I don't hate him but I find him very tiresome and boring. His acting up of the loveably dim child of the house is pathetic. "Alison Wonderland" indeed :sleep:
He is too fake for my liking, taking aspects of the 2 previous Brian winners into his BB character. Some of his house pranks are very irritating too. He knows people who have the role of the child in the house do well and has tried to make it his own. But I suppose to some he has his ok moments and hate is far too strong a word.

Hate is a strong word & i do not hate Charlie. He is just so obviously playing a game. If he was ugly he would have been out weeks ago but his innocent 'butter would not melt' routine has worked on some people but not others.
He stirs & when the rows start he hides away. He got the hump when caught stealing beer. He was selfish when trying to use tokens for himself & kris. He patronises people & then nominates them. He flirts with Rodrigo & then nominates him after one of thier silly spats over nothing. He makes out he is more stupid than he is. He knows when the cameras are on him & plays to them. Siavash does a speech so he has to as he wants centre stage. He cries when Marcus in his eyes is taking over a task but is always at the front trying to get the best parts for himself. The latest being when he wanted to be the Queen & got his way with Lisa's backing.
He hears only what he wants to hear, that goes for Dogface as well. The biggest game players who have not really been themselves since the start are Rodrigo,Charlie,Dogface & Lisa. Dogface even flirted with Marcus wednesday night trying to show off her curves while drunk. After all she has said about him just about sums her up.
Also Charlie was one of the bullies in the early weeks even tougth he tried to sit on the fence when it got heated with half wit he still was involved in the whispering gossip between Karly & Lisa.

I agree with most of the criticism of Charlie here - although, of course I don't hate him - or any of them - it is after all just a game, and people are entitled to play it how they feel fit. it is then up to us to make up our own minds and vote accordingly if we feel that strongly.
What does interest me about Charlie in the house is that it seems many people on here seem to believe that BB has it sewn up for him to win - perhaps always have. This I really disagree with. Largely because the editing very frequently shows what appear to be Charlie's sly looks to the cameras in controversial situations, and these certainly don't do him any favours. They have consistently done this. I think if BB really had an agenda for him to be the winner they could easily have edited those out. Therefore we do see a rounded picture of Charlie, and it is easy to see why those who support him do so - they are entertained by him, when he is being amusing etc - and find him charming - which he undoubtedly can be. Personally, I find his less endearing ways outweigh his charm to the extent that I wouldn't really want him to win - because I do believe he is aware of his charm and uses it to his advantage very often - but I suspect he is not quite clever enough to realise that we DO see his sneaky side also.

I don't hate him, but I was very disappointed in him for a few of his pranks; letting Freddy hide when pretending with Kris they were playing hide and seek, throwing the water balloon over Angel and putting that jelly down his underwear and tricking David into eating it.

Other than those examples, he seems like a nice guy. He is fun, up for a laugh at anytime. Gets on with everyone.

However he really does need to do more in my opinion if he is to win this show.

Charlie is annoying because so much of what he says is premeditated: it's as though he's thinking about how the viewers react (hoping they'll think 'there goes cheeky, lovable Charlie’!). Charlie and Sophie are vying for the Backstabbing but Acting Innocent Award with Lisa.

Sometimes when he argues or sees someone else get the limelight (as when Rodrigo wrote the letter) the mask slips and his face takes on a really furious look. He was upstaging Marcus in the baking task by rubbing flour all over his face: you could see him thinking, 'I’m cheeky baker Charlie today'...

They don't much show him talking about his mum but a number of housemates who've left have said Charlie should win for his mum, so he's clearly gaining a lot of sympathy from them and it was odd that Isaac was in there for so little time and heard all about his mum. His behaviour forces cynicism.

Don't worry it's just TiBB and DS, because they are a niche segment of the population who, like the HMs themselves, favour nerdy and eccentric HMs. Charlie is massively popular outside of these forums and with the public generally.

Most of the supposed 'hate' is just venting out due to the fact that people know his huge general public/chav/lads&gals/gay vote may well see him through to victory.
