View Full Version : Bea and Freddie's snobbery - I can't take it any more!
Okay, I can’t hold back any longer - my biggest gripe against Halfwit and Bea is their unbelievable snobbery and condescension. I cannot abide snobs. I live in a 'big' house with a tennis court and stables - does that make me better than anybody? NO, it makes me fortunate and thankful for my birthright.
I am a qualified psychologist and a champion show - jumper: does that make me think I am better than someone who is on the dole and has had a lesser education? NO! It makes me grateful for a good education and chances to do things I wouldn't have the privilege to do if I had been brought up in a council estate with fewer prospects and opportunities.
I would NEVER EVER look down my nose at people like Lisa and David. They are survivors - REAL survivors - because they are living their lives (and they got on BB!) without the privileges of money, assured comfort and a top class education.
I am sickened beyond belief at Bea’s and Halfwit’s elitist attitude. Bea is the worst offender - the way she denigrated David and tried to belittle him as ‘being stupid’. Who does she think she is? I didn’t see that elitist attitude in Halfwit until Bea came into the house - but she brought out what was in him all along to the surface - and he plummeted in my estimation when he attacked David and deliberately set out to antagonize Lisa. I don’t think he would have done that if Bea hadn’t manipulated her way into his affections - but she sure brought out the dark side in him.
Lisa and David are down to earth, nitty gritty REAL everyday people who tell it like it is. Give me that any day over pretentious snooty have - it - all’s who think they are superior by birthright, and talk down to others in a condescending and arrogant way. NO, you are NOT superior - you are LUCKY, and you are actually less smart than those who know what it is like to live a life of struggle and want.
How dare they look down their snooty noses at honest, working class people who struggle with issues they will never know anything about - and have no interest in knowing anything about. Bea and Halfwit should walk in different shoes for a day - that of the large percentage of the British public who weren’t born with a silver spoon in their mouths - then they might wake up and realize that they aren’t the ‘ALL THAT’ that they seem to think they are.

Awesome post and I fully agree.
There's definitely a class divide in the house now:
Articulate, Educated, Posh, Wealthy Snobs vs Inarticulate, Uneducated, Common Terriors.
The craziest thing is, Lisa destroys Halfwit tactically in Noms every week and is FAR better at social awareness and making friends.
Even David called Halfwit out and said he was a bad judge of character (twice!) especially after Halfwit suggested Hira had a bvtchy side.
Both Bea and Halfwit are just arrogant and deluded. They are priviledged but DON'T deserve it.

I find myself agreeing with pretty much everything you said there.
I didn't think Freddie was snobby at all until Bea came in the house, but he's shown a totally different side of himself, and he and Bea most definitely look down on Lisa and David and I don't like that.
I also don't see how Bea can really look down her nose at Lisa, she being the girl who has been sacked from every single job she's had. Just because she has the support of her family, so doesn't need dole money, and can afford to go back to university, she still hasn't been able to hold down a job has she? So she has no right to look down on anybody that is out of work due to no fault of their own, as Lisa was made redundant.
I really dislike snobs as well. And those two have shown themselves up to be first class ones.

Oh don't worry- wasn't having a pop at you. But yes, there's a huge divide in the house and it's Bea and Halfwit who've created it. They're hostility towards David is totally unfounded, basing it solely on his appearance, mannerisms and through his association with Lisa.

get a grip on your self your watching people trapped/caged/stuck in a few rooms for weeks on end mixing with people who they would never have in their social circle, some playing to the cameras and some who could not care less and to refrain from remarks at some of the antics/sillyness would take an act of god.

I love reading your posts. I myself live in a council house and live a rather under privileged life yet I almost always find myself agreeing with everything you write. I am not as articulate as you and yet we both seem to be on exactly the same wavelength. You always write everything I want to say and put it so well. You are one of the few on here who take the trouble to think about what people say and do without rushing in with pure hatred for a housemate. There is always reasoning in your posts and you take the trouble to explain it so well.

Lisa's smoking, David's eating and stealing, Hira's cheap clothes, how David talks about banal things and is as simple and boring as Yorkshire pudding, laughing about being on the dole and calling it pocket money, just off the top of my head ...

And freddie has said these when?
The dole thing i will give you, but I dont agree that he meant is maliciously, as you think.
The question was what has FREDDIE degraded their lifestyles. Not Bea, as I know fine well she has, on numerous occasions.

Just look for Bea quotes - and Freddie aiding and abetting her by not disagreeing with her. He is as bad as she is by association and giving her encouragement by his continuous approval and support of her every utterance.
He is a weak man who needs someone like Bea to make him feel substantial - and he has cast aside all sense and decency to worship at her altar.

Indeed, Halfwit was actually right about Hira because she did have a bitchy side ~ talking about other HMs behind their back, for example. But David was right about Halfwits inability to judge others' character acurately ~ he hasn't judged Bea very well IMO.
I agree with AhmedFan2004, that both Bea and Freddie are priviledged but DON'T deserve it.
Bea in particular, who seems to be 'playing boho', as an act of rebellion towards her father, whom she "hasn't had anything from that man in seven years" is acting out her animosity in quite a self-destructive manner, IMO. Now, she hasn't had anything from 'daddy' in 7 years and she's been sacked from every single job...so, where's her dosh coming from? Grandma? Dole? Trust Fund? Sugar-Daddy?
If she's not earning her money herself, she has no right (nobody does) to look down on anyone less fortunate than herself...:nono:

Can I just point out the obvious thing here? That Freddie doesn't bring most of these things up on his own, it's not like he's going around to Lisa or David or other HMs and saying "I have a tennis court" or "my house has 70 rooms" ect, most of the time he is replying directly to Bea when she asks questions. She was the one who asked him if he has a tennis court, and how many room his house has, ect. I don't recall Freddie ever looking down his nose at anyone due to their lack of wealth.

I don't agree with that 100%, he did tell her she was in the wrong with something she said about Marcus last week, and he does put across his own opinions on certain things.
When it comes to Lisa and David though he just nods and agrees and laughs at everything she says.
Maybe he feels he has the right to do that with regard to Lisa, after the way she treated him in earlier weeks, but he has no reason to agree with the things she says about David, he's done nothing wrong to Freddie.

No people say it appeared she hated freddie for being rich, because she took against him almost instantly, as did others...for no good reason that WE could see. (Because there is no LF no doubt...he probably is quite annoying all the time, but we dont see that side)
Theres a difference between saying it looks like something, and it IS something.

Ok, while I do concede that Bea has shown far more overt signs of blatant elitism, I firmly believe that snobbery is more of a state of mind rather than an exclusive club for the rich. It's in your behaviour and how you treat others that class divisions are truly demonstrated, and I do see indications of a massive gulf developing between the different members of the house.
The targeting of David was a crucial development in the divide, with Freddie tirading him over his association with Lisa and suggesting that he's only friends with her because of some devious gameplan that they've concocted. What? Where did that spring from?
It's in your actions that you define where you stand on certain things and I don't for one moment think that these groups are forming again accidently.
Bea and Halfwit have played huge parts in creating this divide within the house, with their constant bitching and airs and graces.
Even in their speech they have an uncanny ability to create unease with some of the less intellectual people within the house, and I'm not sure if it's not an intentional method on their parts to isolate themselves from the more common people within the house. Sorry, hate using the word common, but you know what I mean.

Well it's a strange world where people are happy to see somebody miserable and isolated, as Freddie was, rather than somebody who has come through and has confidence.
I haven't seen anything to suggest Freddie hates Lisa because she’s on the dole: it’s entirely personal.
Freddie has made an alliance with Bea through having common ground mixed with a little lust. At this stage of the game they could become the power in the house, especially if Lisa should go next week.

I agree with that.
IMO, I think Freddie felt all at sea and 'different' and too eager to please at first. So he tried to use use his ‘intelligence’ to create divides of ‘them and us’ within the house, according to social status, in the guise of a ‘victim’. He tried it early on with various HM’s and it didn’t wash. He just came across as irritating and annoying and it got nearly all of the HM’s backs up. I don’t think he did it intentionally - it was a survival ploy and defense mechanism to gather like - minded HM’s to his side because he probably felt like a fish out of water. But then along came his Queen Bea who had the same mindset - and the stage was set for Freddie’s downfall with the public.
I think Freddie doesn't have a clue about the real world and the social issues that are a cold, hard fact of life for the majority of ordinary people in the UK - the UK where he aspires to be a politician! His ideology is totally warped and unrealistic - much like a child who wants to drive a big red shiny fire engine, or be a famous footballer. He has as much chance of succeeding in politics as Marcus has of being a sexy pin up in Playboy magazine.
He's intrinsically weak, and he doesn't have much of a personality of his own - it is defined by those who influence him - as has been evidenced by his latching on to Bea, whose early flattery made him feel substantial. When she was dropping him like a hot potato, he felt the need to come over all masterful - in HIS eyes - (the David and Lisa episode - influenced by Bea's opinions.)
If he was trying to give Lisa a taste of her own street - wise, 'tell it like it is' bluster, he failed abysmally. In truth, he just came across as maniacal, condescending and a right tit. His attack on David shows to an absolute T how he takes Bea's opinions as his own - to a frightening degree.
Truth be told, he's a weak man in too any ways - and not someone who would be a worthy BB winner. Just my opinion. Which is long assed - SORRY!

Why do you think he was miserable and isolated? Do you think it was of his own making, or the making of others? No - one else was isolated. Don't you think that points to it being a 'Freddie' problem - not the fault of everyone else?

As much as I abhor the Freddie/Bea axis of evil thing Freddie is simply smitten, its not a question of strength of character, he has proven that the odd time, remember that he was virtually isolated(either by the others or self imposed, well thats subjective) to all intents and purposes for the first 5 weeks in the house with Siavash throwing him the odd bone.
Freddie wont disagree with bea while he thinks there is a chance, he is very immature in his relationships with women in my opinion, and he seems to be following the lead of marcus in some ways, follow her round be there for her and occasionally ask for something in return, the odd sherman, a kiss or cuddle, while not as obvious as Marcus you can clearly see the fact he is smitten.
Last night should have been a wake up to freddie, maybe today when he goes to his little Freddie place and connects to the planet(incidentally its called grounding and centering) his inner self will tell him to get a grip stop acting the tw@t and put the ginger stirrer in her place.
He might also want to think about removing himself from the area when he gets a lazy lob on (a semi) instead of standing there with a daft smile on his face like some sort of ******. ( oh gosh look bea Ones getting a boner)
