His way of not looking like the bad guy, and getting away with things.

I think he's a nice lad who genuinely doesn't like confrontation but he's probably just as thick as Bea.

That grinds on me so much, he just sits there, like when he told Lisa about Noirin thinking Lisa would be hated on the outside, then Lisa confronted Noirin and Charlie was there and he was just looking at them, then when Noirin asked him about it he just rambled on trying to look innocent, it really does pee me off

I have noticed that this expression comes across his face whenever there is an argument going on. It is just hard to determine whether it is because he doesn't want to get involved or people are just speaking too quickly for him and he has tuned out.

LOL  I wonder much the same but you put it so well here

He is a strange one, I cannot determine whether he really is as daft, naive and bewildered as he makes out, or playing a role. Either way, that "loveable, naughty but harmless little boy" expression he's cultivating as a get-out card will not work so well once he gets past his early twenties.

I do remember looking at his most gormless while listening to Marcus and Bea debating the internet and collapse of local communities :laugh2:
