Davids Dad ''David has been ill''

''I really think David will be in the last three, he's an absolute star," he said.

"He's not actually been very well this week with his stomach, so that is why he's been a bit quiet, but of course the viewers aren't told that."

David receives regular phone calls from the show's producers, doctors and phyciatrists to keep him up to speed on his progress in the house.

He said: "You don't realise what goes on behind the scenes and that they ring you to let you know how they're doing.

"They are being constantly monitored by psychiatrists and doctors to make sure they are ok and that they are eating properly – things like that."
