New Task! Maxwell Vs Science!

Big Brother has told the housemates that they have to debate amongst each other with funnily enough the topic of Maxwell vs Science! Funny that perhaps Big brother does watch the forums after all!

I dont think thats a good task at all personally, it will just cause arguements and everyone will gang up on maxwell and how he treats people and not on science for starting the arguements half the time. Poor task I think bb.

Craig is already in a mood! All because Maxwell did not choose him.

The Housemates have been called together for a mass debate this afternoon to discuss the topic of 'Maxwell Vs. Science'.

The two nominees Maxwell and Science will captain teams to help argue their case, taking it in turns to pick Housemates for their team.

With the teams decided, they will then have 20 minutes to prepare their argument for why their captain should stay in the House.

Each Housemate will then be called to the lectern to deliver a rousing one-minute speech in favour of their captain.

If the group successfully complete the task, the team on the side of whoever avoids eviction will be rewarded with a party on Friday.

So far the group have found the idea hilarious. Not sure if they'll still be smiling once the debate begins...

I like the sound of it more now especially as one team gets a reward, I think since they get a party that maxwell has to stay in as he is more party spirited and that should make good tv on friday night. I think derek would be very good at arguements and debates so whoevers team he is on should do well....thats if they can sway the public.

I thought the task was great fun and Derek and Kemals speaches were excellent and very funny. Shame baby Craig couldnt handle the pressure of speaking on behalf of Science and has had to go to the loft to cry......

The teams have been picked and the Housemates are already busily scribbling their speeches.

Maxwell made a clever move by picking professional speechwriter Derek, so Science also played tactically and chose the Gooner's crony Craig.

In the end, Makosi, Vanessa, Eugene and Craig joined the rapper's side, while Maxwell picked Anthony, Orlaith, Derek and Kemal.

Regardless of their feelings for their captains, the teams seem to be enjoying planning their lectures. "This is a brilliant idea," grinned Derek probably missing his job.

Even Craig got into the spirit of things penning a pleasant little rhyme. "Science is good, Science is cool. If you don't keep him in you must be a fool."

Clearly old disputes are all water under the bridge when a party is on offer.

A series of rousing speeches have been given in support of the two nominated Housemates, but Craig found it hard to think of nice things to say about Science.

Old pro Derek kicked off the debate declaring, "This House doesn't belong to Science or Maxwell but the British public." He then pointed out that the public had kept the Gooner in twice.

Craig was less enthusiastic as he tried to big up Science. Although in rehearsals the hairdresser seemed upbeat, his tone made it obvious that he had no desire for Science to stay in on Friday.

"His personality remains consistent," was the most positive statement Craig could muster and he stomped off to the loft straight after his speech.

Speaking on behalf of the Maxwell camp, Kemal's speech also threatened to hit the wrong note. "Showman, entertainer, comedian - Maxwell Trotter Ward is none of these," he announced.

Luckily Kemal moved on to Maxwell's strong points, particularly noting his firm grasp of the English language, "*******, b******* and ******* being his favourite words," Kemal said admiringly.

Science completed the proceedings with this little nugget of wisdom. "I never been a follower, I'm a born leader but I can't lead people who want to be misled," he said.



Craig's initial excitement about the debating task evaporated when Maxwell picked Derek first for his team, leaving Craig to be picked by Science.

The champion bitcher finds it hard to say nice things about people at the best of times and hated having to think of good stuff to say about Science. After his speech Craig slid off to the loft to sulk, where Anthony and Maxwell tried to cheer him up.

"He wishes he'd picked you mate," Anthony said, trying to comfort his friend.

"You have to see it from my perspective," Craig told Maxwell, who had picked Derek before picking him. "I don't hate you for it, I'm just annoyed."

Maxwell defended his actions saying that he had picked Derek for the strength of his debating skills and not because he liked him more than Craig.

"I don't get on with the fella but he's been up for eviction three ********** times, so he must be doing something right," said Maxwell, almost shouting by this point. "Do you understand or not!"

But Craig can't stay angry with his darling Maxwell for long. "Get me a drink, bitch," he said with a flutter of his eyelashes.
