Do people HAVE to go by their real names when they appear on BB?

Surely if everyone calls her Bea it's perfectly acceptable for her to put down her preferred name on her application form as being Bea?

Her friend that appears on BBLB, Tea, I bet that's not HER real name either. :laugh:
