I don't know if anyone has been following the news but there have been a number of Bus and Tube explosions in London the morning. There have been a number of people killed and many more injured.
Tony Blair has announced that these are Terrorist Attacks and al-Qaeda has posted a statement on the a website claiming responsibility.
I would just like to send my sympathy to the relatives of those that have died and wish those that are injured a speedy recovery.

Hell, I haven't even heard about that yet. I've had my head down all morning in work, and just came onto the website for a quick look to see what was going on.
I'll have to see the news sites to see what's happened in London. It sounds awful.

Please remember this is one of 1000's of Red Buses!
UPDATE: A Transport for London spokeswoman says the bus hit by the explosion was a number 30, travelling from Hackney to Marble Arch.
it was a tour bus not a normal bus! i havent heard that it was terrorists??

I think there is a lot of confusion at the moment. An eye witness describing the bus blast said:
"It was a massive explosion and there were papers and half a bus flying through the air, I think it was the number 205"
The BBC are reporting a number of sources claiming responsibility for the bombing and Prime Minster claimed it was a Terrorist attack, but could it be anything else?

Well was that thing in Sapin a terrorist attack? It was something of the same scale wasn't it?

I don't think we know if it is the same scale yet..... but it starting to sound worse by the minute.
It was the same sort of attack as in spain designed to stop the city dead by attacking the transport system.

What a real shame.I really do hope that the people killed is kept to a minimum and their family and firends are comforted well.
UI am also sick of hearing about the effect this has on the "£"...for gods sake people have been killed.
Its worrying to know that someone who is capable of doing this will do anything.
Such a shame that more lives have to be lost.

Well I hope when they are caught, and they have to be caught, we actually deal with them in the way they deserve. Not with the usual rap over the knuckles. These people have killed and deserve to get the full weight of the law thrown at them.
We are too nice in this country and its time we hardened ourselves cos if we dont this type of thing will happen again and again.
Blowing up a bus it takes a brave man (or woman) to do that doesnt it.
The whole thing makes me so angry.

ive been watching this on sky news all morning and it really upsets me that the terriost organisations get there kicks out of killing peole. and if what tony blair said that this bomming was to coninside with the opening of the G8 summit then tahts worse because countries are comeing together to help other countries and the terriost organisations dont seem to like it.
some of the images and accounts of people who were there are horiffic.

my heart goes out to those who are fighting for their lives also to teh famlies and friends who have lost someone very close to them
i would also like to point out how proud i and many other people are of the police, paramedics, doctors and the staff at the underground tunnel for doing such a great jod and dealing with it so well
i hope we can rebuild what has been damaged,we have alot of support and our country is strong and when put together we are even stronger
It is just so awful. I was listening to the news earlier with tears streaming down my face. I feel so sorry for anybody affected by this.
steve_g, I agree about the emergency services, we are very lucky to have such services. They are doing a wonderful job.

All I can say is OH MY FLIPPING GOD!
Thursday's, My Fiancee and I do not work, and I am glad! My office is 5 minutes from where one of the explosions went off!
I saw some of my colleagues and friends from neighbouring offices in the background on the news, all fine, but I have not been able to get hold of a few. I'm sure it's the usual reasons of phone off/meetings etc etc but I'm a bit worried as some of them commute!
This is unbelievable, totally cowardly and I am lost for words and full of anger!
Just makes my stmoach churn to think that people can actually do things liek that, and i bet they will not feel guilty, 5 bombs went off kiling 33 people and injuring many, and reparts say more may be dead :bawling: makes me really upset
Ive had the news on all day and it makes me so angry that innocent people have been killed and injured, i agree Elz_Belz the people who did it wont feel guilty at all, just gets me so wound up.

The people that do things like this have no sense of humanity or shame.... they are the lowest of the low.

The saddest thing about this is that it just seems to have been waiting to happen and that London has been "lucky" not to have had a major incident like this before. We were travelling to near Birmingham and back today to visit a relative and ended up trying to make sure family living and working in London were OK - so far, so good!
I find it amazing that there are only 2 confirmed deaths on the bus so far, looking at the way it was completely mangled up. It's all so horrible, but we need to show these crackpot fundamentalists that we don't give in to cowards and bullies!

the bus which was blown up had been on a diversion it usually passes kings cross station and would have been passing just as everybody was being evacuated and brought back to ground level. shows how much planning these people put into something like this and it makes me sick.

More bad news more bad news in london
Central London restaurant on fire
The restaurant is a popular destination for tourists
A fire has broken out at the Hard Rock Cafe in central London.
Eight fire engines are attending to the fire at the seven-storey restaurant situated in Piccadilly's Park Lane, the London Fire Brigade said.
Ducting at the building was alight from the ground all the way up to the roof, a spokeswoman said. There is no information on casualties.
The fire takes place as the emergency services struggle to recover victims of this week's bomb attacks in London.
