LOL
BB gave a particular housemate a box each!
1 for Lisa
1 for Bea
1 for David
1 for Freddie
At the time Freddie quitted for a day or two, and Marcus felt it was in his right to take them. Not only that he took two boxes at first, so 2 out of 4 packages FFS then gave one up to the housemate who claimed they didnt have one.
Still he felt he was in his right as a non smoker to take 2 boxes out of 4 at first. And to make sure Freddie doesnt smoke again...even though he wanted to give them to Bea later on...so he claims
LOLOL

The big deal is that Marcus is now hated inside the house because of it!

Marcus doesn't smoke.
And he had not kept it a secret that he had them anyway. Marcus' behaviour was a little odd but he is not as culpable as people have made out, by which I mean people in the House and on these forums.

Marcus had no business going near them. Who is he to decide they should be given to Bea as a present?

At the end of the day there were COMMUNAL cigarettes so he didn't STEAL them.
He checked to see if everyone had a box, Freddie wasn't smoking at the time and didn't want any. Everyone else had theirs.
You can't call Marcus a thief, the cigarettes belonged to the house not particular people.
The only people in there that have STOLEN anything are Charlie and Kris, when they went in Marcus's personal drawer and took and drank his cans of drink!
Why do people twist things?

How is he a thief if he took the bloody things in full view of everyone?
How can you compare that to what Charlie and Kris did?
People on here have such a distorted view of things it seems to me.
I think the available information, including the available footage from the House, would lead most reasonable people to describe Marcus' actions as dubious, misguided and asking for trouble. But he certainly isn't a thief. That accusation is not substantiated by the nature of the events.

Indeed. Actually it is quite instructive to compare Marcus' reaction when Kris and Charlie when into Marcus' personal stuff and stole his alcohol, to the hysterical reactions in the House and on this forum over the cigarettes incident.
Marcus just laughed Kris and Charlie's actions off, giving Kris a playful whack while grinning from ear to ear.

They were free cigarettes from the party right? Meaning they did not buy from the shopping list or traded a token for them? In that case they were just as much his cigarettes. Did they have someone's name on them? No. Were any HMs missing some? No. Just because he is not a smoker does not mean they don't belong to him. He could've rationed them out, or given them out as a present (like he said but I reckon he was fibbing), or he could've traded for some food or whatever. The smokers get the luxury of these cigarettes, but what do the non-smokers get? **** all.

marcus lied about them being a present for bea
he stole them to swap for cans or summat
this should be remembered when it comes to eviction friday:nono:

I think for a smoker one what happens with the cigarettes in the house, it is a deal. The problem is not that he "kept" the cigarettes but that he thinks he has the right to decide what to do with them.
He is always thinking of ways to get rid of the eviction, like the previous week he knew he would be up for eviction, so he started his game that he wanted to live and asking everybody to vote for him, who they were going to anyway, but instead he put everybody up for nomination.
Go Marcus you are really annoying... if you want to leave you have the door open, but leave the others be

Extremely unlikely. This possibility has already been discussed in another thread and pretty well refuted.
It is fairly obvious that he would never have been able to trade them without everyone kicking up a fuss and he had already told Bea that he was going to give a gift on Sunday. He mentioned that fact when people were confronting him about the cigarettes and she did not dispute it.
By far the most likely scenario, given the available, evidence, is that he was was going to gift them.

And he is always trading and cheap, like offering Norin a can of cider on exchange of sitting on his lap. Maybe he also wanted to make and exchange with Bea...

Quite. And, as I pointed out earlier, it is interesting to contrast the reaction to this incident with that which followed the outright theft of Marcus' alcohol by Kris and Charlie earlier in the series.

Actually i think the non smokers get a lot more such as most of the stuff they want on the shopping list
and smoking is an adiction a bit like dogfaces drink problem:elephant:
Are sweeties hair straighteners headshaving stuff special hair products hair driers hair extentions an adiction ?:conf:

How about if he brought some off the shopping list? is that ok? Yes that would be fine if it was out of his allowance when they have luxury budget ,but these were NOT out of the luxury budget ,they were a gift to the smokers ,Mucus not being one of them ..Wiki meaning of the word "THIEF"
theft is the illegal taking of another person's property without that person's freely-given consent
As he NEVER got the owners(smokers) consent he IS a THIEF
