Yes maxwell is a mong, his stole the saying 'off the hook' from the sad yankee chick flick 'The girl next door'
And you know he wasn't using that saying 10 years before that film was even made because?

Maybe the 'off the hook' thing was around before the film?
Anyway, if the film's so 'sad', how come you know it well enough to make the connection?

I don't think it matters where he got it from - people pick up catchphrases from lots of different places (and I'm not a Maxwell fan by the way).
I do wish he wouldn't say it quite so much though.
