Heres Peters Briffa take and he should know he gets most of the spoilers e-mailed to him.

Oh yes: the reason I'm writing about this and not about nominations is that I don't know who's up. As punishment for all the rule-breaking the HMs were allowed to discuss nominations yesterday.

Yes, I don't quite see how that's a punishment, but hey-ho. Apart from Rodrigo and Charlie, they all talked about them quite openly. David has being saying he wants to go, as has Marcus. That might affect matters. They still nominated afterwards, and there are rumours that it's Marcus v Freddie, but I doubt it.

Can Sophie Win? Peter Briffa

Some weeks back I wrote that none of the women in the house had a chance of winning BB, and that they ought to bring some interesting, likeable women in quickly to even things up.

Then, in came Hira, Bea, and three more men. David remains, but the other men walked out. Hey, there was even another man, but he also walked. ( Isaac, for those of you with short memories ).

Hira sloped off on Friday, which leaves us with Bea as the only remaining newbie girl. England, however, have a bigger chance of winning the Ashes than Bea has of taking the BB crown.

There will be a few anti-Fredsters cheering her on, but being against one person isn't enough, and she's shown so much disloyalty and backstabbing that no one trusts her, least of all the viewers. Further, they'll kiss and make up before you know it and Bea will go back to being the housemate everybody loves to hate.

But was I right? Could neither of the original women win? Over the last week there has been a significant change in the editing of Lisa, certainly. She's not the chain-smoking, sulking, miseryguts. She's calmer and more sympathetic. It also helps that she isn't shown so much. Nothing makes a housemate more likeable as not being shown. It's why I liked Hira so much.

By contrast, the three amigos - Marcus, Siavash and Freddie - are always making the highlights. Last night on the LIVE FEED Marcus confidently described them all as "A-gamers" doing the stuff that people like to watch. It may be true, but it isn't doing their ratings any good.

Check out the betting. Freddie - the hot favourite for almost two months - has started to fade, and Sophie of all people, is the new one to beat.

How did that happen?

So much of it comes down to being the underdog. While Kris was in the house, Sophie didn't have a prayer. When Lisa, Kris, Charlie, Karly, and Sophie formed a tight, anti-Fred grouping, they looked like bullies. Fred was the underdog. Now that Sophie's been neutered the situation's been reversed. Freddie's joined up with Siavash and Marcus, and they are effectively "bullying" the rest. If it had just been the one of them breaking the rules on Sunday, going to jail, breaking out of jail, and then getting their hard-won food confiscated, he would not have been nearly so complacent. But as a threesome, they felt they ruled the roost.

Sophie's part in the harrassment of Marcus over Cigarettegate was severely cut. Her quiet word with Marcus that Siavash apologised, but that he didn't, on last night's show again showed her in a good light.

Sophie is going on a journey, and they love that at BB towers. They also like it when women win. Never mind that the last two winners of BB have both been women - Rachel and Ulrika - BB has it in its head that other things being equal and unless they cook the books against him, it will always be the working-class bloke who wins this.

And the journey always starts with a more dominating friend being evicted. Nadia didn't have a chance till Marco get evicted. Anthony was a waste of space until Maxwell was out. Sophie suffered until Kris went. In short, BB would love it if Sophie won. The Big Breasted Blonde who is actually Very Nice is a new one for them.

After spending so long trying to save Bea last week, I don't think they'd like to get rid of either of those guys, however annoying it must be sitting in the diary room, listening to them "rebel".
