Aww... I got a little bit choked up when Rodrigo was saying how much he loved the country and wanted to work for a better future etc. This is such a mean joke.

Putting it like that, yes it is mean. But bear in mind, this IS a TV show. He should know not to trust BB and should not be so gullible into thinking the Queen would actually go out of her way to come onto the show to meet someone so unimportant!
Rodrigo was absolutely charming and it will certainly not break him as far as the fans are concerned.
I think it was a particularly cruel thing for BB to do

It depeneds on how Rodrigo takes it or the Brazilians, if it dont go down too well i think BB & The Home Office will be having words

He is a charming beautiful person. He has got to be the cutest housemate ever. You just get an overwhelming urge to cuddle him.

I hated the little fecker since day one, his nicer then nice, wont break a rule, up as soon as the alarm starts while everyone lies in for 5 mins, goes mad at Marcus and Freddie '' Marcoooos why do you break the rules every time..why'' . a wee yes man if ever there was one but that with 'The Queen' he didn't deserve'' i hope he goes on an wins it now and gets the £100,000 to start off a better life in Britain. I think that way if anyone sneers at him over meeting ''the Queen'' he can say ...''Well at least i got £100,000 for it.''

I don't believe for one second that Rodrigo believes all this about the Queen. He's just going along with it.
Trust me, I know several Brazilians and they are very sneaky at getting what they want! He's playing the naive fool because he knows it will endear him to the viewers.
Why do you think he does all that whispering with Charlie every night? Because they're aware that the cameras focus on them and it creates intrigue for the viewers. Another example of how clued up he is about tactics.
He soon figures out other HMs motives doesn't he? Quite.

(stupid database error ate my post. I'll recreate)
I would agree with the whole "this is a tv show" thing except that there are certain lines you don't cross. What if BB had told Sophie that her dog had been hit by a car? Or if they had told Charlie that his mum woke from her coma? Or if they told Lisa that the authorities had kicked her off the dole (ok, semi joking on that last one, but you get the point).
With Rodrigo, one of the most important things to him is living in the UK. It has absolutely changed his life. He has said from day one that his dream is to meet the Queen. I think to him that would be like winning the lotto. Imagine that you were told that you won the lotto and were given the check in an official manner and then found out it was false. You would be devastated. I think that is how Rodrigo will feel. So tv show or not, there are lines that shouldn't be crossed.
