Pink has confirmed that she has started work on a new album.

The singer has told fans that writing and recording for her sixth studio album has begun. The new collection will serve as the follow-up to 2008's Funhouse.


Pink announced that work has begun on the project on Twitter, saying: "Okay the hair is the palest pink.... You know what that means!!!!!!!!!! NEW RECORD TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!"

She later added: "Let's get to making some tuuuunes. Looney tunes."

In the four years since Pink's last album, the star has completed an extensive world tour as well as having a new baby daughter last June.

Well she released the Greatest Hits in 2010 with new material so it doesn't feel like she's been gone away for that long. Still, very much looking forward to the new album!

Pink has announced her first new single since becoming a mom – “Blow Me (One Last Kiss).”

Co-written and produced by Greg Kurstin – who has worked with Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears and Foster the People – “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” is due July 9 as the lead single from Pink’s upcoming album expected in September.
