Marcus = Hypocrite

I do quite like Marcus, he's one of my favourite remaining housemates but he can be such a hypocrite.
He said the other day that he "can't stand bumlicks" and that he wont be "bumlicking" people, saying Bea was an idiot and yet:

Only Siavash is the person we've seen defending Freddie, even if it was haphazardly.
My guess, though, is that we're getting nearer the final and people are more likely to slag off who they think the public dislike just to sound good.

Is someone a hypocrite if they actually believe their own false claims and do not believe they contradict their own boasts with their actions?
When does it just become 'self-deluded'?
Obviously nobody is as big a hypocrite as Marcus who sometimes 'says' admirable sounding things but doesn't actually live them out.
He 'says' he is opposed to gossiping but is as bad, if not worse, than anyone else for gossip.
Claims he will confront anyone face-to-face but only does so with middle-aged women or 120lb University students.
He will 'say' he doesn't believe in betraying friends but will happily let Freddy hang himself while playing quiet and soft yet badmouthing Siavash yet pretending to be best friends with Siavash a day later.

The strange thing is that Marcus does seem to create delusions, imaginary characteristics, willful psychological denials and to the point he doesn't actually seem aware he is doing it.
Is he a 'hypocrite' or just someone who got so lost in the role, lied to themselves so long, become pathological in it and eventually we don't really attribute that guilt anymore when they 'dont know any better'?

He is less concerned about whether or not he is actually getting dates with Noirin or is being played a fool or taking advantage of someone playing him..
..and just desperate for any reason or excuse to press himself against a soft young gal.
