POSITIVE MUSIC THREAD: I like...

So seeing as the music section these days is just full of fans taking digs at other fans and other music artists, I thought of a thread that might bring some positivity into it.

So, this is how it works. Simply, choose an artist and write a few lines on why you love them, and then the NEXT poster says one thing about what they like/respect about the artist the previous poster has chosen, and then they choose an artist and so on and so on. So, for example.

I like Leona Lewis because...

then the next would post one thing they like about Leona Lewis. then they choose an artist and say why they like them...

..then the next poster says what they like about that artist etc etc... ^^

I hope you can understand that lol. k, so I'll start with TiBB's most loved/ hated singer.

I love Britney Spears because she is an inspiration to me, she managed to pick herself out of all the crap in her life like some celebrities haven't managed to do (see exhibit 1, Katona) Her music always manages to lift my mood however much of a bad mood I am in, or however depressed I am. I personally think she is an amazing person & is an icon.

Now you say one thing you like about Britney Spears, then pick your own artist... :kiss:

She makes really good, fun pop music that's amazing to dance to and really cheers you up.

I like Christina Aguilera because she's versatile, has an incredible voice, always has a hand in the composition and writing of her music and can put on a great show.

I like Christina Aguilera because of her amazing, powerful, legendary voice and her ability to comeback every time with something different to offer on every album.

I like Sugababes because I just think their music is timeless and is AMAZING to dance to, and they've survived three lineup changes and still are able to be amazing.

I LOVE Shania Twain because she has created the best country album of all time which gives me so many memories of my childhood.

I like Hilary Duff because she doesn't try to be something she's not, she has good pop songs, simple as.

I aore Hilary Duff because she makes fun, fresh pure pop songs that are fun to dance to and sing along with. She also knows exactly her ability and never tried to make out she is Mariah Carey.

I like Britney Spears because she has or at least her face has consistently produced fun, catchy pop songs that are always memorable and makes great videos. She is also clearly more aware of her limits than half of her fans and seems like a nice person.

[may I just add that some of us were able to keep up intelligent debate without making deliberate digs at each other or the artist at hand.

i like britney spears because i think she is the performer of this generation, she's broken every record in the book and continues to prove the haters wrong. xD

i like chris crocker because his music is fun to dance too and fell for the enemy is a great ballad and he speaks his mind and writes all his own music. [this will be a hard one for others because nobody else likes him, and if you haven't heard his music, go listen! haha]

Katy Perry - I like her because her songs are catchy. 'Thinking of You' is an absolutley beautiful song and Waking Up in Vegas is pretty good too. She's also pretty hot.

I love Sara Bareilles because her music is honest and very well written. She doesn't have to prance around in a leotard and she lets her music speak for itself. She's by far one of the most underrated artists around atm.

Lilly Allen is great, she does her singing well and then goes off and parties like an animal doing what most people her age should be doing!

Arctic Monkeys are amazing, they've had 2 albums debut at number 1, had the record for the fastest selling debut album by a band of all time. Songs are great Alex Turner is a lyrical mastermind!

I like VV Brown because she's brought something new to the music scene this year and her lyrics are very heartfelt. She also has a great and unique look.

I like Muse because each abum they do tends to be different, they all have different themes and styles and they make each one work amazingly well. Everything they do screams originality, creativity and damn near perfection.

I love Yeah Yeah Yeahs because they're capable of doing two different styles of music incredibly well. Their first two albums had a rough, dirty and sexy edge to it that was brilliant, their third album took a much more dance-y. popish turn that worked well because they applied their own style to a different setting. I just love them like mad.

I like Frankmusik because he does pop music well and doesn't force himself fit into some generic tried and true mold like some artists (E.G Pixie Lott).

okay where to start.

I LOVE the Yeah Yeah Yeahs because they tweek their style each album and always pull it off, they have a unique sound, I can't think of anyone that sounds like them atm.

I LOVE Muse because they show a lot of balls and again have matured into a their own sound. They have set trends and continue to revolutionise the music industry.

I like Frankmusik because she speaks his mind and doesn;t try to fit into the exact formula that everyone puts him in. and he makes effing awesome pop songs.

I like P!nk because she's a brilliant lyricist, stands up for what she believes in and is straight to the point and does what she knows is right, not what she's told. Her albums always have a great balance of off beat stompers and pleasant ballads that tell an interesting story.

Gary basically sums up what I love about p!nk lol. Brilliant voice, some amazing songs and has alot of passion in her music.

I love Jason Mraz because he's diverse, very talented and really underrated as an artist.

I like Paramore because Hayley's voice is so rich and pure and they produce fun, pumped up tunes that bring out the inner angsty teen within me!

I like Frankmusik his songs are catchy and you cant deny he WRITES a good catchy pop song.

I like Pink I dislike her music TBH but i respect her as an artist i think her older stuff is very good though

I LOVE PATRICK WOLF because his music is so personal he is damm right passionate about music he truly care for his fans he would never put out something he thought was less tahn amazing.He tries so much different stuff Battle(Metal),Tristan(Folktronica),The Bachelor (Pure folk) and Vulture (Dirty Electro ;)) to name a few.His look is totally individual and he is himself.i love the way he believes in independance.I think he is truly an inspiration his music is uplifting,sad,heartbreaking and just pure amazing.And seeing him live is another thing.He truly is the best live performer i have ever seen!.For me he has created such amazing albums that put him up theyre with my favourite artists of all time (The Cure,The Smithes etc) To me he is severly underated and he deserves success.ll his 4 albums have been incredible.Bring on the Conqueror i say.

PS:Waits for Patrick Wolf to become massive when his 5th album comes out next year he is working with Britneys team and Groove amada.

I ADORE Paramore. They've stayed true to their music right from the get go. Hayley has an epic voice and her and Josh make a really great songwriting team. I would say that Paramore are underrated but as far as rock based bands go (which use very little gimmicks may I add), they're doing pretty well. Every one of their songs is catchy as hell without being too predictable. They also come across as very natural everyday people and love their fans. Basically, I'm a Para*****.

I like Ne-yo because I think that he puts alot of work into songs and he writes his own music as well as songs for other artists. As far as R&B artists of today go, he's at the top for me.
