View Full Version : What is it about Big Brother that makes you tune in Year after Year?

For me its the different types of people and how they react in certain situations. And the utter disbelief that horrible people like some of the housemates actually exist in real life!
p.s. I tune in every year in case my Brad Pitt look-a-like with the personality of John Cusack appears! So far he has not, but who knows next year!

The house design
Seeing Davina
New housemates
Good tasks
This year I figured it was blind loyalty
Its been an OK series at best, Davina is the one thing keeping me watching again through blind loyalty and even shes wearing thin now
BBUK is dead in my eyes but I'll still watch it for as long as its on, no idea why
Because I'm bored and all the good show on the tele take a break.

Because its the best thing on TV
Its one of the very few things on British TV That dosent come from America
Its not scripted unlike some Big Brothers
The whole format is amazing and dosent get old
Its diffrent every year
Im a really big fan
Have never watched BB before and always swore i never would: Believing it to be a game show for mostly teenagers and young adults with arrested development re intelligence and emotionality.
However, late last year i made a career move that gives me long holidays including a long summer holiday. Have been at a loose end and have watched most of BB.
I have to admit to becoming some what adicted to this nonsense!!!
its been good. Marcus to win!

the fact of big brother unleashing a batch of brand new housemates every year!! a group of nobodies and you just dont know what will happen next! its better than the predictable soaps!! in soaps i can already guess whats going to happen! and it can drag on the same storyline for like a year!!
but sometimes in big brother controvesial and entertaining things and storylines mixed into one isolated house can happen within a week!!!!

I havnt though. Started watching when I was studying Psychology and went off it for years but this year is good.
Bea vs Kenneth drew me back and once Bea became boringly repetative I noticed what a star Marcus was.
For me best episode was Monday's with everyone laughing exept Bea.
I think the attraction is the possibility of something completely unscripted and entertaining happening but since that is never down to an action done by BB its a bit pot luck.
Edit:
I have not watched any soaps in years! I couldn't handle the gloom and doom anymore!
Couldnt agree more. (think I remember there was a guy called Lofty in Eastenders?)

I find the psychology of it all fascinating.
However, for the past 3 years I've been saying prior to launch night that I'm not going to watch, especially after Rachel won last year, I was adamant I wasn't going to bother with BB10, yet here I am again! :laugh2:

Its always better when BB don't interfer too much and let the housemates get on with it!

None of my friends or family watch and when they ask I tell them its because I like the psychology of it all, the interaction of complete opposite people and how people either like or dislike each other but if I am honest every year I say I wont watch it and end up getting drawn in once the initial first few false weeks have passed and people start to act more like themselves, truth be known I have no life and I have nothing better to do between 9 and 10 pm at night lol
