More Big Brother fans have voted in tonight's eviction than ever before.

Nearly two million people have already placed their votes on whether Alex or Spencer should leave the house.

One of the housemates will be evicted live on Channel 4 tonight.

Graham Norton and Mis-teeq will be pledging support for Alex on Big Brother's Little Brother on E4 at 6.30pm, while Chris Moyles drops by to give his support to Spencer. The friends and family of Alex and Spencer will also be in the studio.

How can C4 explain the increase in voting giving that both BMRB and MORI and the Sun Poll have concluded that BB3 is nowhere near as popular as the BB2?

Five possibilities:

- MORI has suddenly lost it's ability to produce reliable consumer surveys
- Channel Four is being economical with the truth
- Each fan is making more votes than last year
- A greater percentage of the audience is inclined to vote this year
- Betting syndicates...

Big Brother is getting higher ratings this year, so that would account for the increased number of votes.
