I'm not well versed in the law regarding immigration but is that what he's after? I don't know anyone who would talk about our country like that and w*** over the royal family

He wants British citizenship, he's said so himself a few times.

He has an Italian passport. Under EU law he has permanent right to residency in UK.

Rodrigo doesn't need a British passport. He can stay in the UK for the rest of his life, if he wants, with his Italian citizenship.
British citizenship is entirely optional in his case.

Like the above said Rodrigo has an Italian passport so why would he want a British 1? I know its hard to believe that someone whose not born hear would actually like living hear but it seems Rodders does.

Each country has its own rules. The reason we have a problem here is because ours do not exist.
To stay in Austria you must have either a job or enough money to support yourself and you must have paid sufficient NICs to have health care.
After three months if you have work they will give you residency for 6 years.
You are expected tp pass a german language exam.
Then they might make it permanent.

boomo i m italian and if i want live in Austria, i can without speak german...
Italy admitts double citizenship like Brazil!!! Rod have double citizenship

Thank you for that Fabio.
I know that part of Austria has an Italian history.
Is that the reason for the different rule for Italians?

I find it sad British people don't believe someone really likes your country wanting nothing in return.

Let me educate you: If you have family that comes from Italy such as grandparents (Rodrigo's case) you can get citizenship... I have family in Argentina under this same situation.

Well he hasn't just gone on a television show where he can possibly win a large amount of money just to show his love for our country surely?

indeed. you're all such nasty cynics. not everyone has an ulterior motive for everything. he's a really nice, genuine guy. the reason he loves the UK is because we're a lot more open with sexuality. he's said in Brazil his family didn't discuss it. it must feel awful having to feel bad for who you are.

I think it's a bit of a sweeping to claim the UK is more open with sexuality than Brazil, Brazil is quite a sexual nation and has a well known lgbt pride parade. The issue he faces with his family is different and acting like a spoilt child at times on a UK reality tv show will probably not make them feel any prouder.
I'm not that cynical really but we are into series 10 of Big brother, have had so many reality tv shows and stories of housemates having agents before they go in etc and bullshit stories once they leave. It's a game show their intention is to win i'm cynical when they claim otherwise.

absolutely. I'm Brazilian and I can tell you evangelical Christians in Brazil are stricter then in any other country I've visited. My cousin got kicked out of the worship group in his church by his own father because he got a girl pregnant out of marriage... my cousin was 26.

First of all i would say America (with the exception of Vatican City) are probably the most stern regarding homosexuality within the Church and secondly been persecuted at a church...i'm sorry but what do you expect from the church? Sorry to hear about your cousin but it's hardly a shocking outcome

At least Roddy is here legally. I read somewhere that Sree was being investigated as he had finished his studying, qualified and could face deportation. Think it was a reliable source, i.e. it wasn't in the Daily Star:sad:
