well in all honesty,she isnt...she just has her own way of articulating herself,and while it does sound foolish saying "what are clouds",it is a valid question,however lets just say sophie is acting,the way i see it is if marcus can pretend he wants to go home when all he really wants is to be wanted like anyone else,i dont see why sophie cant play up a little..

personally i dont think she is its just others think they are smarter then her,my guess is there will come a time where you may say something a little foolish and it does not mean you are stupider then others,we're all alowwed to have a brain fart moment,some just have them a little more frequently nothing more..
