So marcus and siavash are up for the chop.
betfair currently has marcus at just over 3/1 to go, and they have siavash at just over 6/1 to go...you can buy money by betting on both.
Get in quick, I have 200 quid on each...mickey is never wrong...

Stating up front again - I don't know a thing about gambling or betting (or even the difference between those).
I read an earlier post where you proposed a way in which you were guaranteed to make money by betting x-amount on one nominee and x-amount on another.
and,
Here again you seem to be saying there is a way in which you can make a 'can't lose' betting scheme.
Okay.
Without knowing a thing about betting I still have to believe that 'the bookies' just simply cannot allow that to happen.
It has to be impossible to do such a thing.
IF that were possible then everyone would just make free money every day and week and they would be out of business.
Its not like they just don't know about this system or scheme?
Please explain how this is possible.
How can you 'beat the system' like this?

Bettfair is peer to peer betting. "Bookie" is just a stakeholder effectively.

betfair is a completely different to ladbrokes or william hill...they are the only company to offer next eviction odds before it is announced who is up for eviction, so they are willing to offer odds without knowing who is officially up..it's called betfair for a reason, as they sort of gamble with the odds they offer..if that makes sense...
I trust mickey, 100%..Plus it's fairly obvious that it will be siavash and marcus for eviction.

Indeed...is he not meant to be some sort of BB insider?

Apparently the HMs knew last night who was up AND there was 3 of them up...

Doubt it, these are the two most likely to be up.
But dont ever trust someone who *says* they are a BB insider...thats the only point...

Okay.. so this is (in a way) kind of like the bet is about who will go up for eviction?
But surely there has to be some way he can win money and you can lose money?
He can't possibly have a scheme where you know and he knows that you will simply take money from him no matter what happens?
Bettfair is peer to peer betting. "Bookie" is just a stakeholder effectively.
Have no clue what any of that means but good luck on whatever 'peer bet' non-stakeholder whatever you are doing with your cash.

I think he is actually in the media rather than an insider. He seems to get press realeases. He was wrong to say the HMs knew. What he was 'trying' to say was that he knew that there were three up. Time will tell how reliable that is. He now appears to be saying there is a new rumour which he thinksis almost certain.
Wait is all we can do.

That would make more sense.
People on here have told me previously that he works for BB in some way which is how he 'knows' things.
But your way does make more sense...definitely.

You should not gamble money you need :nono:
Only what you can afford to lose...

Bettfair puts individuals together through a website. One says A will win, the other says B will win. If the A backer is 75% sure and B backer is only 25% sure they do not match each other. There would need to be two other people who think A will win.
If B wins his backer gets the stake from all 3 A supporters
If A wins B's supporters stake is shared amongst them
So, different from taditional bookmaker where you are betting against the Bookie.

I find that bookies do this when they have taken an awful lot of money on a certain result happening to sort out the odds to not get hit for a lot.

its probably suspended due to this thread and people putting big bets on marcus and siavash. Would love it if 4 people were up or something lol

Yes it will re-open but the odds will be quite close around "evens" v "2/1".
I would put money on Marcus to cushion the blow if he does go.

As has been said, Betfair is a peer to peer type of betting. You can lay and make bets so as long as someone is prepared to lay odds and someone wants to take that bet then there is a market. Probably the only chance the average punter can act as a bookmaker. The leverage is very high so by laying bets at odds you choose for the market your potential winnings are high, as are your potential losses. If the market is suspended I would smell a rat.
Good luck though for those of you who have had a flutter or laid odds.
I dabble on IG Index for the stock market, good fun if you do your research.
I was going to look for an arb last night, but I forgot.
Need to make back all the money I lost taking Liverpool at opening price vs Villa yesterday :bored:

Betfair is a betting exchange so bookie doesn't stand to get hit for a lot. One punter bets against another punter, not against the bookie!

I don't thnk you can beat the feeling of accomplishment when you find a nice arb. For those interested, here is a guide.
