It just so happens they are gay. Would you perhaps like us to pussy-foot around the word? Or would you rather we just incorporate it into every day conversation? There's hardly anyone here who would seriously discriminate against someone on account of their sexuality, but soon people are going to be curbing what they say in case you get offended! Would you prefer us never to mention Sophie is blonde? Or that Rodrigo is Brazilian? Or that Marcus is a waffling git? It's all part of who they are, and it just so happens Lisa's gang are gay. The OP clearly meant no offence in using the G word.
