Hello!! I had the great pleasure of meeting Lesley, who helps run this site, at Channel 4 this evening, when taking part in the Think TV programme which was screened live. Sounded like a good idea at the time....except none of the "specially selected" audience members had a chance to speak! Wouldn't have been so bad, if one or two had had a chance to say their piece - but no one did at all!!
Is reality tv a rip-off.....well, its not looking good, thats all I can say!
Nice to meet you Lesley (I was standing with you by the sign-in table, for a while, then we chatted in the auditorium, where you gave me the address for this site!) and I think this is a fab site!! :dazzler:
Hi Paula
It was nice to meet you as well. :thumbs:
As I said on another thread, I did enjoy the debate, but was quite disappointed that no-one from the audience got the chance to speak. :bawling:
I'm not sure whether they ever really intended letting us 'ordinary' folk have the chance to have our say. They may genuinely have not realised how long everything else would take, but the cynic in me thinks that maybe they thought they wouldn't get an audience if they just asked people to come along and watch everyone else talk.
Anyway, it's great you've registered here, and I hope you stay around and post lots more. I think the 'debates' we have on here are more interesting and everyone definitely gets the chance to give their two-pennyworth. :laugh:

Welcome to the forum, Paula. :wavey:
I watched the debate last night and was waiting in eager anticipation for LEE to be given the opportunity to put her question to the panel. And although I spotted her in the audience, I was so disappointed for her that she wasn't given the opportunity to speak.
The programme was a big disappointment to me, and I got the impression that the panel members couldn't care less what the audience or viewers thought - they would just carry on their own sweet way regardless.
I hope you'll become a regular visitor to the forum - we're all very friendly and respect each other's differences of opinion. Although there can be some heated discussions, it's all done 'in the best possible taste'! :laugh:

Hello Paula,
:wavey::wavey::wavey::wavey::wavey:
Nice to see you here, and great that you found the site after meeting Lesley. How did you get in on the 'in-crowd' then?
Us poor little minions just keep plodding away, posting our news, views and flights of fancy, whilst some of you are on a higher plane altogether, mixing with the celebs!
:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
Welcome to the site, from a shy and retiring ROB!

What a lovely welcome!!! I am really pleased to hear from LEE and everyone else! I shall keep visiting (can't keep me away now!) and watching what goes on here.
I agree with LEE though - the cynic in me wonders if they ever intended to let us all speak! I don't doubt that it would have made interesting TV though - - look at "Question Time" - thats just ordinary people with a panel of MP's and stuff. Actually, I think we would have been more entertaining!
I saw LEE on screen as well - and I was spotted by numerous people, who observed "You looked really hacked off!"
How right they were....
xx
