Right, last weekend I went to V-Festival, from Friday, until Monday. It's my first festival, and I was going to decide afterwards depending on how much I enjoyed it, whether I'm going to do Glastonbury next year. I went with my boyfriend, and four of his work mates. They've all done festivals before though.

We arrived on the Friday afternoon and I was SO excited. We put up the tent, lounged about for a bit listening to music and eating, and then once it got late, we decided to take a walk around the area. We could only access the Arena part, and they decided to buy bar tokens, 'cos you need tokens to purchase alcohol [£3.50 each] and me & my boyfriend shared 30 between us [yeah, a lot of money haha, luckily i'm a lightweight]. The queue was massive, and out of boredom I took some pictures. Then we went back to the tent, had a few drinks and went to sleep. Unfortunately the caravan next to us had a mega sound system so it was REALLY hard to get to sleep.

We woke up Saturday and decided to make breakfast first, then head out to try and get a program and stuff. They decided they were going to teach me to cook, and therefore resulting in this unfortunate picture:

Right, so we found a program and planned our day. The first act I went to see was [b]Mr Hudson. He was really really good. I didn't know a lot of his stuff but what I heard was really good, and he was pretty good at getting the crowd going. After he finished, we went to see Pixie Lott. Now I'm a huge Pixie fan, and I was the only person I could see who knew all the words to almost all the songs hahaha. She was amazing, her voice sounds so good in real life, and she also knows how to work a crowd. She did a lot of her own stuff, and a medley of Neyo's 'Closer', JLS' 'Beat Again' and The Killers 'When You Were Young'. I found out afterwards that Pixie was going to be at the signing tent, after Mr Hudson so we rushed over to there to see them. Mr Hudson had cancelled which was disappointing but whilst I was queuing up to meet Pixie Lott, Taylor Swift was on. Now I'm not really a fan of Taylor, but she was probably the biggest surprise for me. She put on a good show, or well, what I saw of it. After Taylor Swift, The Script came on but I didn't pay any attention to them. Meh, they were rather boring. I only sat through them because no-one else was on and I was waiting for Lily Allen. Oh, and Pixie Lott was really nice! I queued up again afterwards to try and meet The Saturdays but they came out 15 mins late, and their manager said they'd only be out for 15 mins, which was sucky. There was only about 8 people in front of me and they had to go, so I yelled 'Una!' and 'Frankie!' really loud as they were going and started waving and they both waved back, which I suppose, is better than nothing.

Next up, Lily Allen! Definitely worth the wait, she was great at getting a crowd response, she sounded really good live and got everyone singing along. She stopped half way through to ask for the cricket score, and during '**** You', she made everyone sway with their middle fingers in the air hahahaa. Afterwards, we rushed to the Arena, to see The Saturdays. They performed 'If This Is Love', 'Up', 'Keep Her', 'Just Can't Get Enough', 'One Shot' and their tour medley of covers ['Shut Up And Drive', 'I Kissed A Girl' and 'So What']. They were definitely my favourites as this point, I got up on my bf's shoulders for 'Just Can't Get Enough' and these three girls kept giving me funny looks, maybe because I kept screaming and singing along. Hahaha. Next we walked back through the park, saw a bit of The Ting Tings, went to get food, and saw little bits of Alphabeat, Pete Doherty and The Killers. We only stayed around for about 4 or 5 songs by The Killers because although they were good, they didn't really.. excite us :\ lol.

Next day, we woke up, had breakfast, and I chose to see Lights, who was one of the first acts on. I've heard loads about her so I wanted to check her out. She was really good live, but there was only one row of people in the tent watching her and a few people dotted around so I tried to cheer loudly and stuff to make it up lol. She did say she didn't expect a big crowd. We sat around for a bit drinking, I made friends with a rather lovely bunch of people hahaha, they had a nemo fish teddy bear thing, and one of the girls said i'd reminded her of her sister who was my age, and the guys just kept asking for a group hug with me LOL. I saw bits of James Morrison and Biffy Clyro We went to see Daniel Merriweather next, whom was just. amazing. I love him. hahaha. He had quite a big crowd actually, I was rather surprised. We then found out Oasis had cancelled, I weren't too bothered but my bf and his mates were lol. This meant that a band he wanted to see, James would clash with Katy Perry whom I wanted to see so I missed Katy to watch James with him. They were meh. Alright, just didn't know their stuff. Last up, Lady GaGa. Now, she is THE reason I was there, and so before we set out, knowing it was crowded we got some food, and left ourselves an hour to just cross through the gates, and go to the arena. However just as we'd finished eating, they shut the gates due to it being overcrowded and we started freaking out. Luckily, my boyfriend knew another way into the area so we risked it and got in no problem, we fought our way to about the middle of tent to see her. OMFG. She was fantastic. Best act all weekend! She was mindblowing, phenominal, got the crowd going CRAZY. She performed 'Paparazzi', 'LoveGame', 'The Fame', 'Money Honey', 'Boys Boys Boys', 'Just Dance', 'Poker Face (Acoustic)' and 'Poker Face'. She also said it was a special day for her, and for us as it was the last time she was bringing The Fame Ball Tour to the UK, but she'd do the O2 Arena next year, so I REALLY happy that I'd see The Fame Ball Tour haha. We caught a bit of Keane and Snow Patrol before heading to bed and left Monday morning.

Overall, I had an amazing weekend. It set a really good impression on me for festivals, despite the lack of a decent shower, mank toilets, and rather chilly nights. Lady GaGa was definitely the highlight of the weekend and I'm SO happy that I've finally seen her live. I'm definitely gonna go to Glastonbury next year seeing as there's apparently more nightlife, clubs, and side-attractions away from the musicians.
