View Full Version : Sky News Intellectualising Big Brother

Sky News interviewing Shilpa Shetty trying to intellectualise the demise of Big Brother. What rubbish. The simple fact is all shows have a shelf life and then they are either replaced or altered. BB has reached the end of its shelf life and will either re-emerge in a different format or disappear forever. It's just a fact of life.

Give it 3 years and it will return.

Apparenly Simon Cowel has ade a reality TV show for ITV after XFactor, might be good, hes trying to get Katie Price on board as a role in it

They've kinda used Jade Goodey as a scapegoat as to why BB has fallen in popularity, since the whole Shilpa thing.

I agree all shows have a shelf life but if you were to add up all the hours BB has broadcast over the last 10 years with the Highlights Show, BBLB, BBBM, Diary room uncut and Live Feed it would be way more then any other show in UK history - which shows how good a show it is

I didn't see it but think that's an awful thing to do. Jade was a great HM. She handled all the criticism well when she came out of the house and really turned her life around.

She handled her cancer with great courage and I think she should be praised for the good things she did.

... or as Jade herself would have said, an 'escape goat'.

This from the man who set the benchmark for intellect by the hi-brow taunt of repeatedly calling Charlie a potato!

Isn't irony a wonderful thing?

A massive lurch to the right in public opinion, everything now has become PC, from Gordon Brown's intervention with the Shilpa Shetty/ Jade incident, to other events in and around the same time all of which has meant greater scrutiny and greater accountability for the programmes that are screened is being placed upon the men at the top and to be brutally honest, they haven't got the balls any more to make the type of programme we would all like to see.

it would benefit from a good five to ten years away from our screens.
