They were not allowed to reveal themselves to the public in any way, which I would expect, if people watch BB and heard david shout that they would know who he was. His voice is very easy to recognise, plus the fact that he was shouting lisa.,..people would click on had they watched the program before.

So I would expect it was a fail...

I doubt they will care much anyway, they had a fun day out, screw the others

This morning it was announced that for the new Shopping Task, housemates had been transported to the Big Brother House of 2209. And in the open-minded 23rd century, even aliens are allowed to enter the House.

And seemingly, they're also allowed to leave it to do a little sight-seeing.

Dressed as aliens, Lisa and David have today been on an open-top bus tour of London. They've been to three landmarks - Tower Bridge, St Paul's Cathedral and the Houses of Parliament.

To pass their part of the Task they were instructed to get a photo of themselves taken by another tourist on the disposable cameras given to them by Big Brother. However, they were not allowed to talk to anyone except for each other, and they only had 10 minutes at each landmark.

They've had an exciting day out on Planet Earth, but like any good extra-terrestrials, eventually they had to go home.

And when they arrived back this evening the pair looked pleased as punch after their grand day out.

"I can't believe it," Lisa beamed as the pair chuckled together.

Then they burst into the House to tell their fellow housemates all about it. But, instead of the housemates looking pleased for them, they looked ever so slightly miffed. Perhaps because their great escape was being slightly eclipsed, or maybe they just fancied a sight-seeing trip on a bus themselves?

Question is, did David and Lisa get any good holiday snaps?

They didn't break the rules. David was *addressing* Lisa. By addressing someone, you are communicating WITH them. David and Lisa were able to communicate with each other, but not with Big Brother staff or members of the public. They also weren't able to reveal their identity, and using the name Lisa is hardly revealing her identity.

Davids voice is very distinctive. I watch BB a lot, if he was out round newcastle dressed up as anything and he shouted lisa, I would reckonise his voice. Being a BB fan and all...

I may well think I was imagining it, but I would be very suspicious.

I would notice his voice anywhere...

think about it. 2m viewers this series, approx 60/61m people in the uk, about 7/8m in london. what are the chances that the people that were around them (mostly tourists from other countries) watched bb? so what are the REAL chances that they would be found out by a male northern voice shouting "lisa"??

(a) The brain automatically filters out dissonance that contradicts what we 'know' to be impossible.
(b) Tourists wandering around London have better things to do than be part of the 2 Million saddos like us, that watch this garbage!

I haven't seen the task, only the narrative of the day out posted by kisywisy.

In it, it clearly states that they were allowed to talk to each other ( I presume at all times) meaning alone and in front of members of the public.

What they weren't allowed to do was to talk to any members of the production team or members of the public on their task.

I would presume the latter meaning that they would have to use some sort of sign or body language to get the passers by to take their pictures at the London landmarks.

They were allowed to talk to each other and even use their own names as long as no member of the public cottoned on as to who they were and no member of the public did realise who they were. So they would have passed the task. And they were brilliant.

Shasown
26-08-2009, 10:12 PM
There is a minor problem.

They did fail

On the second location where David took the camera back from the little coloured girl he did say"Thank You".

The production team cover this up by turning up the background noise and turning the input from their mic's down but if you watch it and listen carefully he does say "thank you" And that is communicating verbally to the public.

Regardless of whether he was allowed to talk to Lisa while near people or not. David said "No, this one" (about the camera) to somebody.

MissKittyFantastico
26-08-2009, 11:42 PM
I do remember thinking to myself when David shouted 'Lisa Lisa Lisa' several times, that they could incur a fail for that, because yes they were allowed to speak to each other, but they were also told that they weren't allowed to reveal their identity in ANY way.

Him shouting her name could, if BB wanted to be really strict about it, mean that he's failed.

Not big enough of a deal for people on here to be arguing about it so much though surely?

setanta

I agree Kitty and sure I found the whole thing so funny. Lisa walking exactly like she normally does took the buscuit for me.... still knew it was her in the costume lol.

Beyoncé
26-08-2009, 11:49 PM
I will not dispute the fact that they may have failed the task but the fail would be nothing to do with him saying "Lisa Lisa Lisa." It doesn't MATTER that we knew it was David because of his accent, he did not intentionally reveal who he was verbally. That's like saying he revealed who he was because you could tell there was a big bloke under the costume - OH NOEZ THAT MUST BE DAVID FROM BB!!!111one - uh, no. Doesn't work like that.

Saying thank you to a girl, saying "no, this one" about the camera to someone would be against the task rules, but not addressing Lisa in his normal accent around people. He didn't communicate who he was to the general public then.

I never said they should have failed because people recognised him from his accent etc, please read this it is a quote directly from the official ch4 bb website

Oh and with regards to whether they passed/failed? I don't know. All I know is if they had it had nothing to do with the "Lisa Lisa Lisa" - I was AGREEING with you, if anything, that it would be the thank you/etc. to the girl/public.
