I think another Dark Horse fan said it best in a post I read earlier, I've added on to it so everybody can see that Marcus is the greatest housemate:
The fact that a lot of threads about Marcus get made is because he's the housemate that makes the most impact -- I count 12 threads about him on the first page alone, and how come the haters aren't talking about their favourites?? I don't see many positive threads about the other housemates like David, Lisa, Sophie etc -- it's because those housemates don't bring enough to the table, so people don't have reasons to talk about them and their fans dont get any inspiration.
Face it, Marcus is what's keeping Big Brother interesting, if it wasn't for Marcus this forum wouldn't get half as many regular visitors -- which other housemate have you seen who has tons of threads made about his legendary quotes and general awesomeness every day, and who has survived tons of evictions because he has so many fans?
Marcus is the most entertaining guy in there, he deserves to win BB10 and The Irrepressible Dark Horse will ride on to victory this Friday and so will his supporters. :spin:  :colour: :colour: :cheer:

What's having a panic attack got to do with anything?
Still a total legend in my eyes
But each to his own

How can he be a legend if he's weak enough to have a panic attack at the sound of someone's voice? :laugh3: Stop talking out of your arse and pretending Freddie is anything more than a regular housemate.
by that logic how is marcus a legend after his obsession with noirin?left a broken man after not being given free reign over noirins "nubile body"... he didnt get to have his way with her,and he sulked..not much of a legend if you consider a panic attack reasons for dismissing freddie..

Being a legend isnt about strength.
Look at Michael Jackson.. he wasnt the strongest emotionally but still a total legend
IMO legend is about character, about what you have achieved, about the impact you have made on people. Freddie went on a journey, he stood up to people who were bringing him down, and was always himself, plus he has forgiven the people who brought him down and refused to say anything bad about them when he got out of the house. IMO that makes him a legend

I think whats so intriguing about Marcus is the perplexing nature of his character and the genuine pathos that surrounds him. The David Brent comparison is always with me when I watch him in action. He's a fascinating character, whether you admire him or not. Personally I think he's a little scared boy who hides beneath the facade of machoism and his own misguided intellect. He's so interesting to watch and really entertaining in both his delusional ramblings and his moments of real warmth or insight. Magic stuff.

Did you just delete that post eggdavid? I was about to respond.
Yes I have many worthwhile things to say, it just so happened Tintedshadow took the words out of my mouth. Now would you rather I posted nearly the exact same post or was it better that I simply agreed with him?

I did delete it, which is sort of why you can't see it anymore. It wasn't an important comment, though, for those who didn't catch it.
Anyway -- quoting somebody else and saying "I agree" is all very well and good but I would have preferred you bringing more to the table by making a post beyond a one-line response, even if it is a similar thing to what Tintedwhatever said.
I've already replied to him, though, so if you were to actually make the post anyway then I have pretty much already responded to it. So far he hasn't replied back. Probably too busy posing for his profile picture. :laugh3:

I responded to his post and he hasn't replied back. Are you still crying because Freddie got owned and Marcus is a bigger legend than he'll ever be? :pat:
In your reply back to him you said Marcus was the only one to stand up to Bea that night. Well Freddie had got up to say something to her but Marcus told him to go back to bed. Funny how you forget the facts.

Ok what was on my mind before I saw Tinted's response was:
If Marcus fans insist on calling him a legend then the same must be allowed for Freddie fans.
Freddie was favourite to win this whole thing right from the beginning & kudos to him for surviving so many evictions.
Marcus started getting popular halfway through & also began surviving evictions. A lot of people are now backing Marcus to win.
Fair enough. But both have had their downfalls. Freddie got sucked in by Bea & we both know how that ended. Marcus got sucked in by Noirin & refused to believe she didn't want him until she got with Siavash. We also know how that ended.
Both have done & said things that have kept people entertained..Marcus being the funnier of the two but still.
So I do believe you cannot call Marcus a legend while dismissing posts from users who see Freddie that way also.
That's all.

I wish Siavash would have said something to Bea during her rant to Freddie in the bedroom that night but he bottled it...shame.

Actually, he didn't. Freddie was lying in his bed laughing and Charlie pointed this out, whch caused Freddie to leave the bedroom and start explaining to Charlie that he was laughing about Bea's "if you can't take it then don't give it out" comment to Marcus. Charlie then gunned Freddie down as usual, and Freddie went back to bed. Funny how you forget the facts.
Trying to deliberately twist what happened to make Freddie look better won't work. :laugh2:
Yes then Freddie was waiting for Bea to come out of the DR so he could tell her what a hypocrite she was being but Marcus said 'do me a favour mate, go back to bed' cos apparantly he wanted to make himself look bad, all the while knowing this was TV gold and he was making himself look entertaining
And I'm not trying to make Freddie look better. Freddie is out now so I have no reason to. Just stating the facts

Marcus told Freddie to go back to bed because he didn't want Freddie to look bad which could get he evicted. I can't believe people twist it the other way round.

How do you know Freddie was 'waiting for Bea to come out of the DR'? How do you know he wasn't still there just because he was in the middle of an argument with Charlie? Freddie never had the balls to tell Bea how he felt, and if Freddie was really going to argue with her, he wouldn't have went back to bed.
And yes, you are trying to make Freddie look better, you're putting a slant on your recollection of events to put Freddie in a much more positive light. He came off as a idiot on the live feed that night and you know it. :pat:
Ok... so he laughed, Charlie made a big deal about him laughing, so Freddie went out to explain exactly why he had laughed.
How does that make him look like an idiot?
Anyway you're just annoying me now so Im putting you on ignore. Bye bye

You can't compare Halfwit having a panic attack at the sound of Bea's voice to Marcus getting upset after having a crush on Noirin. He wasn't left a 'broken man' -- it's true he was a bit depressed, but you're projecting.
While I admit that Marcus was a bit boring when he was upset due to Noirin, since that point he has been a complete legend, he comes up with hilarious quotes and also destroyed Bea on the live feed when nobody else would stand up to her. Marcus not only makes the most impact on the house (which is the cause for all the threads that get made about him here) but he is also the most genuinely entertaining guy in there.
actually i think you'l find i can compare the two, both were infatuated with their respective other and had been cast aside, then treated callously which is what led to fredstars panic attack, and marcus's "depression"
i will agree,i saw a nicer side to marcus after noirin left,it seems she had a fairly negative affect on the guy,he has shown more endearing qualities since then.. my point however,is ironically the same as yours.. in your post to to "halfwitftw" you said "stop talking out of your arse and pretending freddie is anything more than a normal housemate"..do you see where im going with this?
anyways, the fact remains, marcus is indeed a good edition to the house,he has his moments where his humour shines through,he also has times where he acts up,so hes pretty much like any other house mate..
as i have said in another thread, someone said tonight he was on top form, and i find myself thinking "not quite".. he had his moments, but he seems to get praise for so much as a raised eyebrow, while in all honesty david/lisa's conversation on the bus was way funnier than anything marcus had done all week..
yet somehow on this forum, the new trend is to pat marcus on the back for so much as having a little tickle of the pickle in the bathroom..
marcus is okayish,nothing more...
