View Full Version : Shame on Marcus: Betrays Everyone for His Ugly Ponytail..

Incredible.
It really amazes me to see someone so selfish, so spiteful and even so stupid as to blow 15 thousand to keep their ugly ponytail. It even grows back!
Lets put it this way. Suppose you know you are going on Friday. Fine. You know it. You will NOT win the money.
BUT,
At the very least you know that one of your fellow HMs is going to win it. You know none of them are wealthy and all of them could use the money. AT LEAST you leave knowing at least one of them can go home with 15K more.
Who else is going to get it - Big Brother who you claim to dislike and has enough.
Unbelievable.
To me it becomes so inexcusable as to almost become like burning someones money. Taking 15K from their pocket to spend on a ponytail.
Its STUPID because, he (pardon the word play) but he cut off his nose to spite his face.
Or did NOT cut his hair and kept spiting his face errr.
This may very well have won him a way into the final!
For starters his physical appearance would have become 10 times less revolting,
and,
he would be seen in a 'journey' story of becoming a man putting away childish things,
and,
obviously even people who think he is disgusting might be able to say:
"Hey.. he is rude but I will give him credit he did the right thing to make sure someone else benefitted".
Yikes.. he blew it and even though he had boos coming to him this ought to double the deserved boos.
He 'punked' himself and exposed himself. With all this talk about how he is a loyal and trustworthy knight etc and this guy took 15 thousand for his vain little ponytail.
Superficial, selfish, spiteful and downright stupid!

That ponytail is gross
Its his hair and the can do what the fok he wants with it. First they didn't offer HIM money, they offered it to the winner of the show. Why would he shave his hair when he doesn't know if he will have the money or not.
You make no sense.. Lets make a 100 pounds bet you, me and 5 other persons. For one hour we punch each others in the mouth and whoever has the most teeth remaining in the end win the 700 pounds.
Its the same thing, I understand Marcus and he has the right to say no.

He is smart enough to know that it's Big Brother playing games with him and he's shown on many occassions before that he doesn't dance to their every tune, particulary when it involves something like cutting off his hair, which he obviously is very fond of. Compare what they asked him to do with what Siavash the brave wee soldier had to sacrifice. It's doubtful whether SIavash would have shaved his hair and beard for the money.
I just think it's Marcus sticking to his guns and understanding that it's all a head f£ck courtesy of the production team. Sure the housemates were laughing at the announcement of no prize funds and he's basically just no backing down. It's funny to me.

He thinks he's going on Friday. He loves his hair...why didn't they ask Siavash to do the same thing....doubt if he'd have shaved his head & terrible beard off. Marcus is not motivated by money....or rewards...easy come, easy go. his attitude greed is an ugly trait. :hello:

while i apreciate the effort you took to post this, this really isnt about betrayal..
whether his hair is special to him because he took time to grow it,or he just prefers long hair is his choice,no one would feel cheated if he refuses as its his own personal choice..
aside from that, they dont care about the money allegedly so it shouldnt bother anyone too much...

Hair is a huge part of a persons identity and doesn't grow back quickly. I don't blame him for refusing no matter how hideous I think it may look. He likes it so he has every right to refuse not to cut it!

Considering that Charlie has an ill mother who they all know about and they all think Charlie is gonna win, plus Marcus saying he considers Charlie as his only true friend in the house.... I would have thought that would have been reason enough for him to cut his hair.

You got it.
They have suspected Charlie will win. Marcus claims Charlie is one of the few he considers a real friend,
he knows Charlie's family could use the money for better things,
yet,
He is not even asked to shave his head.. ..just cut off the rope of hair that nobody sees. Even Marcy didn't show it in his hand-picked vanity photo,
yet,
Women from our workplace with beautiful long hair took part in a Cancer fund raising event where they pledged and did shave their heads for donations.
Marcy could not even have done the simplest task that would have actually improved his looks,
instead gave Big Brother Producers 15 thousand dollard of someones prize money.. ...to look like a cheap fukktard from 1982.
Marcy is no friend, is a cheap selfish superficial fraud through and through.

Funny old things care homes are covered by the NHS as well poxi. Incidentally when someone dies, their next of kin is entitled to get a grant from the Dept of Work and Pensions, it used to be about 3 grand, this more than covers the cost of buying a coffin, leasing a plot and also a service and either a burial or cremation. Please check your facts next time you want to post inaccurate fiction.
Oh and its pounds not dollards(I presume you meant dollars)

I don't blame him at all. It's obviously a huge part of his image so why should he sacrifice it just so the winner has an extra 15 grand? Ridiculous. The winner will make that from one interview with a mag/paper anyway.
And it will take years to grow it back as long as that. He doesn't even like the other HMs!

Ok logical points......
1)it is his hair and his image, why whould he remove a physical part of himself at BB's order???
2)Basically everyone nominated him apart from Siavash, why should he do them favours???
3)He has refused to jump through hoops for BB since start, why start now???
4)No-one else in BB has or will be asked to change their physical appearance (ie not their clothes ) so why should he???
5)He doesn't care about the money, and apparently either do the others so what's the big point???

He didn't betray anyone. It's his own ****ing hair, therfore he can do whatever he wants with it.
Besides, all the other housemates claim they don't want the money so why bother then?

In Siavash's case, its like asking him to pour battery acid on his face or something like that.
In Marcus' case, its like giving him a FREE 100% coupon to a plastic surgeon to fix his face.

Someone's image that they have obviously spent a few years creating ( ie growing their hair ), is a protion of their character and how they want others to view them.

Just pathetic the 'justifications' going on over this. Pathetic we live in a world where people cannot even identify the most obvious right and wrong.
"Its HIS hair!"
Well no fukking duh it is. That is the point. It was 15 Thousands (and apologies I said 'dollars' once as speak Canadianese sometimes) and Fifteen Thousands Pounds he could have given to someone.
He could have. With HIS own Hair. Which grows back.
Again: MARCUS had the RIGHT to give someone 15,000 using only his ponytail!
and he didn't.
What kind of fukking superficial fake appearance world where a ugly fukking ponytail being seen by the public for one night is actually any comparison to a fellow HM getting another 15 Thousands Pounds.
SHAME.
Just disgusting.
He actually got something to LOOK BETTER and even help him WIN the money,
Siavash got an embarrassment and he is living with it.
The only possible way this can ever justify anything will be if The Winner GIVE BACK to whoever did their part.
Gives Siavash 15 for it,
Whoever else,
DOES NOT give Captain bumlicking phony superficial greedy slimebag NOTHING.
Boo that fukker hard Friday night. Biggest scumbag little backstabbing shlt of the entire season bar none.

El Proximo, no matter what you say, BB should never have put him in that position so that is why I agree with his answer and decision. He shouldn't have to decide to lose his hair.
And I will also say this to you too, it does not matter in the slightest if you or everyone on this planet think his hair is "ugly" or what not, it obviously is a very important part of his own image, so why should he have to sacrifice that part of himself to line the pockets of someone else if he doesn't win??:puzzled:

It SHOULDN'T, but it does. Thats just how our society works. If someone decided to grow a hair that looked like a penis, it would be the same case. It may bring out more extreme reactions from others who are forced to look at the ugly penis hair, but its the same case nonetheless. Its torture for my eyes to look at his ugly ponytail week in and week out. THATS being selfish, torturing millions to look at that **** over and over just for your own twisted, perverted pleasures.

The example you used of growing hair in that shape is both ridiculous and stupid. He grew his hair long, I'm sure loads of guys have, and I'm sure loads of those guys aren't so called "HOT", however it is his and he is obviously proud of it as it isa physical portrayal of part of his character. As is Siavash's. There is no distinction in this matter, they are on a same level, how it looks to other people, yourself included should not come into it.

I am saying this as I think it is disgusting that people are being asked to physically change themselves, ie Marcus cutting off his ponytail, Noirin shaving her eyebrows etc,
Marcus has obviously spent a good few years growing his hair to the length it is (my brother had long hair and it took him years). It is a physical representation of the image he wants to project to others. It is also very important to him as he does look after it. Why should he have to lose this for other people to prosper financially, when he has already said they would squander the money and wouldn't appreciate it??

He should do it because it is an easy way to make a very small and temporary 'sacrifice' to ensure one of you fellow HM's gets the money instead of BB keeping it.
Apparently you think having to live without a ponytail for 6 months and the respect and power it commands is worth more than 15 large.
Wow.
The selfish little ahole didn't do it because he is a self-obsessed superficial little man who was angry inside about being one-upped and NOT being treated as a hero for 5 minutes and now he wants to punish and hurt people and protect his 17 year old fukktard little boys 'image' he created and worships.

Siavash was asked earlier in the series if he would cut his hair and beard off and his answer was "Hell No", as it is his image.
Marcus's image is his hair and his sideburns.
That is part of him, part of his persona and probably part of his security and how he feels comfortable in how he is perceived by others.
He is not putting his ponytail over others food or bill payments, in fact if memory serves he is the person that has given most when it comes to the task (recent example is doing more than his share of the group cycling) so that example is phut.
He is not a 'bad person' as you put it just because he won't physically change his appearance. Your previous comparison of ladies doing so for charity is well off mark too, as this isn't for charity, it's for fame and money hungry people.

You're killing me this morning, btw would you shave all your hair off so a friend can go on holiday?
You bet I would. Marcy's offer wasn't even that. It was just his ponytail and for enough for the winner to take him and every other HM on a holiday!
But I'd do more to send just one friend for a week anywhere they wanted.
No doubt.
Siavash took a much worse task and did so happily!

Marcus realises that Big Brother is simply playing games and that no matter what anyone does the prize fund is likely to be one hundred grand again by the end of the series.
On that basis I think the OP and its follow-up posts fail.
I suspect that once again he has out-thought Big Brother... and many of his critics on this forum.

There's playing a game, ie doing tasks for food budget, nominating for eviction etc, then there's changing his physical appearance for a task that means nothing to him. He didn't enter the house for that and I'm sure he most certainly didn't sign up for that:bored:

Actually I am on record on this forum as stating that I see undermining and attempting to outplay Big Brother as being itself part of the game, since Big Brother ultimately retains power in the House.
I am entirely consistent on this and have said it several times in relation to Siavash's refusal to nominate, defending him on several occasions against people who have criticised him.
So, as you can see, I am entirely consistent on such matters and have made several arguments in relation to the nature of the "game" and the "meta-game". I would say, on that basis, that your accusation that I was being "embarrassing" lacks merit.
And, I really would be grateful if people would not jump on the bandwagon of using patronising emoticons in response to articulate posts. I think it brings the entire forum down and would never do it myself on that basis.

I see the game differently,it is a difficult few months which people have to overcome obstacles set by BB to come out the other side as the victor, and imo, people are usually grateful that they have been given this once in a lifetime opportunity,No one is bigger than BB even though they think they are,it smacks of big headedness and I think to be saying a housemate can outsmart ANYONE is imo embarrasing, there are some articulate posts on here to which I rarely will use an emotion unless it's a thumbs up.And to talk and swear at someone who could be potentialy going to give you £100,000 is bliddy ungrateful

So we see the game differently. I am glad we have established that. To be honest, going further and attempting to establish which conception of the game has greater merit is far beyond the scope of this thread, even if there is a fact of the matter to be established, of which I am dubious.
Nobody said there was a Housemate who could "outsmart ANYONE". I think you misread my initial post as it does not say that. Further, as I have said, my position is entirely consistent on these matters and I have defended other Housemates in line with this consistent position.
To be honest, following your latest post, though it is well expressed, I am losing a proper conception of exactly what it is that is supposed to be "embarrassing". It just seems to be a general criticism of my position, no more than that. And since we have already established that we have a basic disagreement then it does not add much to the debate.

Marcus said he doesn't give a **** about the money and now we know in this case really, he doesn't give a ****. He could of however contributed to a little prize fund for the winner if you think of it that way but who cares?
At everyone saying "I wouldn't do it"
Course you ****ing would. 15k for cutting a little bit of hair, damn right. Marcus obviously doesn't care less about money. After this, I feel that Marcus does not have a game plan at all. Why would he want to win the show if your not in it for the money? Marcus has been a great housemate and more housemates should be like him. Be yourself, act your own way and not be in it to win it.
Played Marcus, most people would of bitten at the opportunity at 15k but you didn't. At least if Marcus doesn't win, no other ****wit gets the prize fund like Lisa or Charlie.

people are grateful when they are given food and shelter when they are destitute.
not for a few grand at the end of a game show, where all those that are still there now, know if they are astute enough they have the potential to make a lot more than 15 grand.
also the producers choose who enters the house, therefore they know the type of person marcus is and what his reactions are going to be.
it took me a couple of weeks to choose a favourite and of course that is marcus, for all his faults and his whole personality.
whether he stays tonight or not he is a great housemate,
and i have enjoyed watching him far more than the plastic cutouts that are left.

BUT,
At the very least you know that one of your fellow HMs is going to win it.

I love how the OP berates Marcus for, what in effect boils down to "not cutting off his hair to give the money to Charlie's poor sick mum" -whilst openly supporting a benefit scrounger like Lisa. If people like Lisa got off their lazy arses and worked, the state would be able to look after Charlie's mum much more comfortably.

I love how you have a 'two wrongs make a right' type of morality where any behavior can be justified by finding some other more reprehensible behavior.
"Yea sure my brother spit on that homeless person but last week someone elses brother kicked the same homeless man in the face so..."
but,
In this case your retarded morality doesn't even get its fact straight.
Lisa is employed and generating more cash into the UK economy than you ever have and probably ever will in your entire lifetime.
Seriously.
however,
That is neither here nor there to justify why Marcy decided to give Big Brother (who he pretends to hate) the right to keep the money,
instead of guaranteeing it goes to at least one of the HMs in the house instead.
By a simple 'sacrifice' of a superficial outward fashion style he could grow back anyways.
Oh and thank Lisa the next time you take advantage of a hospital. She has a job generating and even bringing money INTO the UK in numbers that should astonish you,
and,
She was amazingly generous and concerned towards whoever would win missing out on the prize money and wanted to do whatever she could in her part to help them get it.
Unlike selfish superficial little piece of shlt poor-excuse-for-a-man Marcy the self-bumlicker.

El Proximo,
Since you started this thread, the ENTIRE HOUSE has been given the opportunity to earn money for the prize fund by swimming laps in the pool. And they refused. So are you now going to go on an equally vehement diatribe against the rest of the housemates? Or do you just criticize those you dislike while ignoring the same behavior in those you like? I believe they have a word for people who do that, btw.

How do you get through life?
Deal with Marcy. He gets to stand or fall on his own by his own actions,

Gotta loves how be actually brags about how he will say no. As if 'not doing' is something 'done'. As if the easiest and least challenging thing in life is not 'refusing'.
Then this little coward actually tries to double-up the boasting over how "I said I'd refuse.. I TOLD you I would refuse!"
He actually tries to get repute and 'man of his word' credibility because he 'stuck to his word'. Wow.. is there no cowardly selfish little act this boy can't find a way to 'turn upside down' so he was brave and others were stupid?
This is why (tragically) Marcy will not change from this experience. His 17 year old boys 'protective shell' really is 'irrepressible'.
Sadly he thinks this is good. Which means it wont change. Which is sad. At 85 he will still be a miserable stupid little 17 year old boy.

Marcy was the biggest phony of them all with this big act about how he (self-appointed) was the one who really didn't care about money and (self-appointed) got to 'declare' and 'judge' what others thought. As if he gets any 'say'.
He was infuriated when he saw Siavash make winning choices, he knew he was going and he is a hissy-fit vindictive little child who wanted to see one of them losing 15 thousand by his own choice. As a punishment for putting him up and not accepting his teenage boy's 'Superhero real man' character as he demanded they do.
Duly noted - this is the guy who wants a million pound and a german sports car (the equivalent of his 1982 sleazeball hairstyle),
then turns his own love of toys around on everyone else. Somehow THEY would spend it on ridiculous things,
yet,
This is a guy who has spent nearly every cent he ever made on buying himself toys, buying himself a superficial costume, buying himself shltty tattoos you pick off the wall,
and,
buying himself thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of toy dolls (including one of himself as 'god') to fill his bedroom at Mums house.
A money and 'things' and 'looks' orientated selfish money-loving little runt. Marcy is the worst kind.

At this point every one of them are in a stage of life where they could use that money for legitimate and useful things from a home to a good working vehicle to a university course or spreading it among struggling family members,
