Its a common ploy on some commercial TV channels. It is with some programs the most sort after advertisement space, the reason being a lot of programs like to end on a controversial point or a cliffhanger. Some viewers may change channels during the main program but tune back in for the last few minutes of airtime of the actual program. Looks like CH4 have adopted this idea in order to maximise advertising revenue.

And tonight there would have been a few people waiting in anticipation of the nomination/eviction announcement.
