alright -- can someone give me a quick tutorial on what i'm supposed to do -- i want to place £50 on lisa leaving tonight -- i know i need to create an account, but then what? how do i even get to the big brother section?

also, i heard that if i bet £50 on lisa leaving but she actually stays i'll get 25 back because it's my first bet, is that true?

cheers

Locke.

As far as I know by placing a bet of over £25 you get a second bet of £25 for free, whether you win or lose on your initial bet?

Dont even know why i'm helping you, you gimmie nothing but grief...but there isn't a bad bone on my body so...........

Be careful, the first bet you have has to be a loser.

How to claim your free £25 bet:
1. Open your account
2. Deposit and stake up to £25
3. If you lose your 1st placed bet, you get that stake back within 24 hours (up to £25)

well, i hope i did that right -- i placed a £50 bet that Lisa will leave on 1.07 odds but my account still shows i have £46.50 left in my wallet -- i only put in £50, so why? the 'liability' (whatever the **** that is) of the bet was £3.50, but why hasnt the money in my wallet gone down much lower?

im sure there are people on this forum who use this thing to bet and can explain this

what did you click lay or back? blue tab or pink?

lay, pink one

it says "Bet Status: The following bets were successfully matched" and mine is under it

but in the top corner it says:

Total available: £46.50
Main wallet: £46.50

how can i still have that much left if I chose £50.00? it has only been deducted by the £3.50 liability, i dont understand how this thing works

Mickey2009

You laid Lisa to be evicted. .. lol you want Lisa to stay now.

If Lisa is evicted you lose £3.50

If Lisa Stays you win £50.00

PaulyJ

Liability is the amount you stand to lose, if you placed a 50 quid bet on blue (back) then i dont see a reason for your balance to be 46 quid are you sure, sometimes the whole amount does not get matched straight away and you may still have money waiting to be matched which means the odds changed after you made your bet and you should cancel the remaining 46 and rebet at the changed odds, are the odds 1.06 now or lower?

You have laid Lisa to go

In simple terms if she goes you lose 3.50

You wanted to Back (Blue)

However i dont see how you get 50 quid winnings from a lay bet of 3.50

I would make sure all unmatched bets are cancelled and leave well alone for no

eggdavid

nothing, im just annoyed at how confusing this whole thing is

i didnt realise i'd only get £3, i kept confusing it with a real bookie's and thinking i'd get my original £50 back too so i'd end up with £103

No if she goes you lose 3.50 red equals lose green = win

i would be happy to believe that you will lose 3.50 and win 50 if someone else goes as thats what the figures in the cap show.

And i'm sorry to complicate things but it says you have layed 50 quid in the pink bet slip to the right and that would mean you lose your stake 50 quid plus a further 3.50

but it does not show this in the figures next to the names

No,thats the 'backers' 50 quid added to his 'imaginary'wallet. So if Lisa goes he will payout £53.50.
If she stays the whole £53.50 will move to his 'real' wallet. The 46.50 is ok.

not a bad bet, id rather risk 3.50 to win £50 than risk £50 to make £3 and have david walk its a good chance he will? at the end of the day there is no point risking £50 to make so little money.

Just for my future reference, am i correct in thinking lads? that if he we're now to back for 50 quid if the back odds we're now 1.07 he would effectively be calling off the bet at no loss no gain

If the back odds we're 1.06 he would lose 0.50p regardless of outcome

I tend to back the fav to win at low to mid odds, around 1.3 and it is truly amazing how often my back spurs on the underdog, and the odds u-turn

This years Aus open Verdasco V Nadal saw me backing Nadal at 1.3 then i lost my nerve and layed at 1.60 only to see the odds reverse, backed again at 1.30 and it reversed again.

I wont be making that mistake again by the time Nadal won i was 120 red on both sides

Using the same method in darts, especially in the early rounds seems to work as the players seem a lot more consistant and predictable

I was sitting on a Befair bank of 200 worked up from a measly 20 from soccer 4.5 goals market at the turn of the year

By the end of the first Darts tourni of the year January i was looking at a bank of 700

Then feeling high and a bit giddy on the ease of my banks increase i started panicking about what to replace Darts with, and figured Tennis has the same sort of odds movement. Que The Ausi open and reality hit by the end of it i was looking at a bank of 120

You are right disiplin is key, i now have changed my staking plan and dont actually have a bank per say

When i get my wages, (weekly) i stick 40 quid into BF the i try to double it if i succeed i pay myself back and continue, if i lose the 40 i wait till the following week to bet again. It stops me from betting more than i can afford, and stops the old more you win more you gamble scenario.
I'm taking more out of BF than i am putting in so i am happy for now :hello:
