To me it has become a way of showing that what you are writing is meant in a jokey way rather than what it stands for, which is "laugh out loud"
So what does it mean to you?

just have a habit of putting it on the end of my sentences alot of the time to show what i say is in a happy way and not blunt, never actually laugh out loud when i write it

Yeah its usually..
If i have nothing better to say.
If something is humerous but not really funny.
Shows sarcasm or things you mean as jokes.
If i laugh then i put it in capitals..
Normal lol i wont laugh usually.

LOL = Almost laughed
LOL and 1 or more exclamation marks = Really laughed out loud.

Usually for me anyway/For me it's...
lol = To hint it was not meant bluntly.
LOL = Found it funny, but didn't laugh.
LOL! = Small giggle.
And then if I actually laugh out loud then I use LMAO!

I hardly ever actually laugh out loud at something. It is just meant as a bit at the end of the sentence to me, just to make it seem quite happy. But I usually just stick a smiley face on the end anyway
One time when I really did Laugh so much and so Loud (At 4 in the morning, waking the family up consequently) was when Me, 30stone, Josh, Christina and Kat were all on msn in a group conversatioin and we were talking about Kats dirty habits. Kinky Kat is her new nickname. Lmao :)
