Is this forum imploding?

Hey guys

In the last week or so, the forum seems to have taken a turn for the worse in terms of posts of bile. Not helped by some new trolls (troll on multiple accounts?), now banned thankfully. But still a sudden increase in petty, nonsense bickering - no debate, just rubbish...and some of it getting pretty personal and offensive (not particularly towards me or anything, just in general).

I know we get 'trolls' from time to time, but it's like now that the HMs have imploded, the forum seems to be doing the same (not everyone, still some good posters, so please don't all take offence, and I'm certainly not perfect either!)

Please - I've enjoyed the forum over the last several weeks -
Many of us have had some great banter with each other, and there have been some good debates.

I hate to say it, but DS currently seems to have far more sophisticated, well argued posts (even the bickering ones)! I've also noticed a reduction in the number of posters on here. Perhaps this is why HMs like Marcus don't bother coming on here (he has been all over other forums).

I am a big TiBB fan, but just thought it was worth pointing out. :bored: :conf:

i said the same thing -- if i was a BB housemate i wouldnt bother coming to TiBB either, im not suprised they choose Digital Spy -- you can't even make a housemate appreciation thread here without it getting spammed and derailed by trolls in 5 seconds flat

It's got terrible on here this week, people spamming utter shite, being offensive about the HM's they don't want to win, the same posts being repeated over and over, it's the worst it's been since I've been here (this is my first year so maybe it always gets like this in the final week?).

I feel sorry for the mods because there's really no way they could possibly keep on top of it all at the moment.

The decent banter has come almost to a total standstill and that's a shame.

I'm actually looking forward to BB being over tomorrow (with regards to the forum) and hopefully a lot of the trolls will find something else to occupy their time.

I can imagine people are getting hyper about the final so people are more agressive in return.

It's the final week so you get trolls returning etc. The minority try to spoil things for the majority.

It has went seriously downhill.
Not by the faithful few FMs who are interested in debate or discussion about their thoughts and observations, or by the MODs who are doing a great job and we are grateful for their hard work.
It is the massive increase in FMs who just come in, clog up a decent thread with their insults or spiteful hate of an ex-HM or current one.
It's the increase in nonsense threads that have no meaning and just spam up the board.
It's the obvious multiple accounts who come in, abuse a FM then leave.
This forum is a good place to air your view and have a coherent debate on them without being censored as you are on other forum sites.
Please stop ruining it for the people that enjoy being here.

Honestly, I have far more respect for the likes of El Proximo and Ahmed Fan (unless they are the ones doing all this new trolling? But I doubt it)...at least they stick their neck out with their posts and are articulate in their postulations.

Wow, these new trolls are actually astounding. They really don't realise how sad and unfunny (in a really funny kind of way) they appear. PMSL

If every one of us just simply ignored 'any troll post', then that would be the ultimate way to bypass them (bless em!).

I've been disgusted by some posts tonight, but unfortunately people keep replying to them so they stay on the front page. It's best to totally ignore them after you report them (wouldn't normally report but they are ultra offensive tonight). Ignore the trolls.

I'm new but I think I've been a good boy.

I have, however, recently left (banned from) another 'popular' forum with over 2,000 posts under my belt. Never bad before but just banned for no real reason.

That's life, I suppose.

I agree with you guys totally. I have just been having this conversation with someone. There is loads of vile and bitter posts and threads going around at the moment. We'll try keep on it as best we can guys. But if you see them try not to respond, that is what they want. :thumbs:

This is exactly what I've been trying to say. I can't wait to see a 'troll' post fall off the page with ZERO posts and even ZERO views - it would be so funny!! (and then banned!)

You expect stupid bile filled and homophobic etc. posts from trolls...however some older members who have been brilliant posters up until recently are now just making hate threads nonestop, making things up, twisting everything to suit their warped opinions etc.

Sick of seeing so much hate around to be honest. Though its to be expected near the final...theres really not much need. I'm quite disappointed, to be honest.
