We've just seen on the night show, Oralith having her 10000000000th crying session complaining she wants to leave. Craig rushed to her aid, and then Makosi joined them in the bedroom.

Does anyone know what Makosi meant when she said "you dont want to be seen crying" (or something along those lines)

ThaGazBoi

because then the housemates will know that shes weak and wants to leave.

Because Derek will be going on about it with Kemal for the rest of the week. They will both use it against her in anyway they can and use it to they advantage in order to get her out the house.

Well if you look around the house i think anyone would be..look at eugene he is all alone. She feels an "outsider" and people have told her that to ger face that she shouldnt be here but not in so many words. I feel sorry for her at the moment and she has grown on me...

Because if Craig sees her getting attention for crying, he'll start wailing in an attempt to get Anthony to hug him or something, and let's face it if we've had enough of Craig's tears, imagine how the housemates feel!

On the subject of the hug thing, craig wanted a "real" hug from anthony and he offered him his lager...pathetic i thought

People should have took not an voted her out when she said she wanted to go but no they had to vote out Science because of his actions on a couple of occassions in the past week. Now look what we are left with orlaith crying all the time, I despair .

Okay we get the message. You hate her. How you can hate someone you have never met is beyond me. Just remember nobody in the house is being themselves.

Why did people keep her in is beyond me. So what if Science was loud and annoyed people at times at least he did something! He had a good side to him aswell but people always like to look for the bad and not concentrate on the good. Derek and Craig succeded in bringing him down and you just played into their hands by voting out Science, now they think they have power.

ThaGazBoi
25-07-2005, 11:21 AM
it was a close vote BB 50.5 to 49.5

Ruth
25-07-2005, 11:23 AM
Closer than that - Science got 50.25% and she got 49.75%. The problem is that they will all assume that Orlaith is popular with the public and the truth is that last week's vote was all about how people felt about Science, not her.

I agree with everything BB ferzy said!

I think Orlaith has over played the crying game now and it time for her to at least reserve her feeling for the diary room. I should imagine that the modeling world is dod eat dog and you don't get any where unless you can tough it out with some really nasty people. So the girl must have some back bone.

Maybe Big Brother should get the psychologist to have a word with her. It worked for Derek a few weeks ago when he was playing the crying game!

Mike
25-07-2005, 12:49 PM
Orlaith is pathetic.

How people kept her in over Science is beyond me.

Red Moon
25-07-2005, 12:57 PM
I think before we say get her out we should consider who she is up against. Mike your a ANthony supporter right, well who you prefer in the final four Orlaith with no chance of winning, or Derek with a good chance of winning.

Why the voting has gone the way it has this year is partly due to people playing the game to give there housemate the best chance of winning. People that are entertaining are a threat and so they get voted out.... i.e. Roberto, Maxwell and Science. I think this is why we and the housemates are confused as to who is evicted this year.

It's not only the housemates that are playing the game so are the public.

Kore
25-07-2005, 12:58 PM
the GBP shud vote out the boring ones and keep the entertaining ones in.

Mike
25-07-2005, 01:03 PM
Its been poor voting from the public this year.

Roberto should have stayed over Derek and Science should have stayed over Orlaith.

The funny thing is the people who vote the entertaining ones out are usually the first to complain its getting boring.

Tanser_Man
25-07-2005, 01:32 PM
She's stupid,

She's beaten all these people to get on the show and she continues to cry and try and get people feeling sorry for her.

I blame Makosi, Kinga would have been just what we needed in the house.

Dan_
25-07-2005, 01:38 PM
Yer she is wasting such a good opportunity and thousands of people would love to be in that house. She needs to stop feeling sorry for herself and try her best to enjoy the experience, there no point moping around.

I am a bit cynical about her wanting to leave now because she can easily walk in the diary room and request to leave but she has not. If you hated something that much you would not stick around. Her reaction to staying on friday was really telling though, she was happy.

Tanser_Man
25-07-2005, 01:41 PM
Exactly, she's just trying to play the game how Derek did in the earlier stages, which won over quite a bit of fans.

She makes no attempt to make her feelings known to BB, so why should people waste there time talking to her, comforting her.

Dan_
25-07-2005, 01:45 PM
I think that some housemates are only comforting her to make themselves look good, Derek and Makosi are prime examples of this. They both have let their feelings known about the girl behind her back but put on this front as if to say oh we do care for you Orlaith but I don't buy into it.

People do things for their own game and to gan an advantage. They have no real sympathy.

This is the irony of it. Poor Craig is doing his bit to keep the show mildly interesting and, surprise, surprise, some of the public want him evicted because he makes a fool of himself towards Anthony when hes drunk.

What do fans of the show want? We've had a BB series where, for most part, the housemates got along, played by the rules and chatted happily together without much incident. It was called BB 4 and it was rubbish. I still remember their startled and shocked expressions at the sounds of the booing crowd on eviction nights - especially when Lisa went. They looked absolutely petrified and afraid to do or say anything that would incur the same wrath.

Ive been asking myself the same thing Andy, what do the fans of the show want? usually the anwser is "just good entertainment" but what confuses me is how can everyone want good entertainment when they cant stop voting the entertaining housemates out, like ive already said the voting has been poor this year.

Dan_

I can honestly say that if Eugene or Orlaith were up against Craig I would not vote out Craig. He might well be an irritating little ass but his arguements with Ant are better to watch than Orlaith's crying and Eugene's anicdotes. Even though I hate craig he adds more than them two.

ThaGazBoi

I probley would vote craig or orlaith out.

Slartibartfast
25-07-2005, 02:22 PM
The thing is not that the public are voting out the "entertaining" housemates, the public vote for the housemate they don't like. They don't seem to think in terms of who's going to entertain the most, it's who do I like the least. BB is, at heart, a popularity contest. The winner will inevitably be which ever housemate can appeal to the highest number of viewers, and in the end this is usually the housemate who is the least offensive, the blandest and the quietest. Thats why Ant is fave to win now.

Anyone who is entertaining is usually someone who's going to get noticed. The problem is what some people find entertaining, others find irritating and annoying. So if they're being noticed, some will love what they're doing and others will be irritated by it. Roberto for example, some found him entertaining and thought he should have stayed over Derek. I wasn't entertained by Roberto, he ate food, he cooked food and he argued over food, and did little else in my eyes. For some it was entertaining, to me it was irritating. Same with Maxwell, he annoyed the hell out of me with his stupid juvenile late night pranks, but some found this to be his strongest point and the reason to keep him in. On the other hand, I love watching Derek manipulate the house and mess with peoples heads, (same with Makosi early on.) Most people though hate Derek exactly because he manipulates the house and messes with peoples heads!

Different people are entertained by different things.

Mike, I stopped trying to understand their logic long ago. I dont have any problem with fans disliking Craig providing they can give good reasons, but making a big deal over something he said while he was drunk is ridiculous.

Luckily theres been a lot of strong characters in the house this series (I think anyway). Even the quieter ones have some personality (maybe with the exception of Vanessa). Compare that to BB 4 when for weeks we were left with housemates with all the allure of wet cardboard.

A typical day from BB4:

10:04 AM Housemates lie in bed
10:43 AM Dave applies blusher
11:34 AM Gos prepares a breakfast for everyone (well he is a top chef)
12:45 PM: Steph cleans the house
1:43 PM: Gos tells a crap joke. Everyone laughs!
2:23 PM: Steph cleans the house (again!)
5:52 PM: Nush reads a book
7:42 PM: Cameron and Scott enter into some dull conversation nobody is interested in
9:34 PM: Dave applies some more blusher
10:53 PM: Housemates enter in a two hour long word game (what fun!)

:bored: :conf: :bored:

I don't think everyone dislikes Craig just because of his behaviour when he was drunk. It's not as if we all exactly loved him prior to that. I have never liked him, because I think he is very manipulative, like Derek, although without Derek's intelligence. Also, Craig seems to hate it if anyone tries to do anything nice - his attitude seems to be "who are they to be doing that?" He's a bitch as well. I didn't even see the episode where he got drunk until this morning, but I disliked him way before that.

I disliked Craig up until Saskia and Maxwell were in the house because of his obsession with being a subserviant doormat to them, but strangley have started to like him more since. I enjoy his little chats with Anthony on the sofa. Theres a genuine friendship there and they can be amusing together. I chop and change my mind on housemates all the time, but then why shouldn't I? It's not like Im on jury service sitting in a crown court with the housemates in the defendants box.

Arguing, complaining, moaning, criticizing are all part of every day life whether we're at home or at work. To actually not do any of these things is abnormal.

I think loads of us change our minds about the housemates. I used to want Derek to win! And I really liked Orlaith when she entered the house, but I really cannot now see why she was even picked as a potential housemate.

Of course, arguing, complaining, moaning and criticising are part of evey day life. But being nasty when someone is trying to be nice (as Craig has done to Eugene), and being manipulative and spiteful aren't very nice characteristics I don't think.

This is the first year where most people change their minds every week about who they like and dislike, whether thats a good thing or not im unsure but this years evictees i think has been a let down as most of the fun people have left as they have been to loud or arguementative for the housemates and the boring ones stayed.
