Rory is so so pointless and he annoys me. Sebastian is interesting, but again pointless. He is only used because he's good looking and teenage girls love him
Same here, doesn't help that I can never understand a word he's saying either. I hope the character leaves soon.
So true, it annoys me how Ryan Murphy thinks all these characters always have to be so good looking for the audience to like them. That's what I liked about Lauren, she wasn't there for looks, she was just a brilliant character and most people grew to love her. Glee is quite a shallow show when you think about it.

LOL
I've been finding the phrase 'it's glee' helps with any of the storylines
Music from nowhere? It's Glee.
A Black gospel choir? It's Glee.
Two Characters with Down's Syndrome, five gay characters and a 28 year old playing a 17 year old? It's Glee.

They hate women. They haven't done anything that makes women look good at all, if you think about it. Rory is supposed to be an exchange student, but yet he's made no contact with Brittany who he's supposed to be living with. He also was only given a 7-episode contract, which was extended, but this is unfair on Samuel.

They don't break the stereotype either. Kurt is flamboyant and camp just like the gay stereotype. Same with Blaine, he isn't as flamboyant/camp but still stand out. Rachel is selfish and full of herself because she's a singer. Mercedes is black, so is obviously a diva. Brittany is blonde, so stupid. Santana is hispanic, so violent/aggressive. Tina is Asian, so has no lines.

I only really watch it to discover brilliant old music which I would never have discovered had it not been for Glee. That's what I like about the show, it does cover current music but I like hearing old songs which I've never heard beore. Most of the characters I don't care for anymore.

Love that, I downloaded it earlier actually. I sometimes listen to the original and find myself preferring the Glee version but not with this one. I don't like them doing newer stuff either, they seem to be doing it lots more lately which is annoying. I much prefer them covering old songs. I really liked the Glee version of Girls Just Want to Have Fun, it was really haunting.

I read somewhere it was going on a break, not sure how long or even if that's correct. If it is going on a break I hope they use this time to try and save the show. I'm reading more and more people are growing tired of it.
It would be a shame to stop altogether and I would love it if they could bring back that magic that was throughout season 1

:( Can't stand that song, they keep doing loads of current hits lately. I want them to go back to doing more older songs.

I do too but I can only see it getting worse tbh, some of the characters have been ruined and the storylines are pretty absurd. I'll keep watching but I'm not confident it will have a future after Season 4.

They did so many great songs from days gone by during the first season and that's what I loved about the show originally. I think it's great when they do current songs too, but it seems the balance is heavily towards doing new songs and less of the older ones.
I don't always think they do the new songs any justice the same way they do with the older songs.

I hated it when they were rumours about the currant cast going, but now I think the show needs this. Like you say they have ruined some of the characters lately. As much as I like Rachel & Kurt, I get fed up of the episodes dedicated to these two.

Loved the new episode, such a huge improvement on last week's episode and probably the best of the series. Great selection of music, slightly eerie how they covered a Whitney song but Amber Riley performed it superbly. Loved Sugar, loved Rachel's dads and the God Squad stuff was cool.
Looking forward to the Winter finale next week.

Powerful episode to say the least. I wasn't aware they were covering the issue of teen suicides until we saw Karofsky get the belt out of his drawer. :( Very brave for them to tackle such a delicate topic but I hope it helps anyone watching with suicidal thoughts to not give in and to realise that suicide is a permanent solution for a temporary problem.
Quinn's crash at the end was a shocker too but I assume she doesn't die because there's pics of her back on set with Kevin. Still really liking Rachel's dads and I liked the Sue/Quinn scenes. Also it was nice seeing the Rachel/Quinn friendship again and how Rachel wanted to wait for Quinn to arrive. Good episode overall, shame we've got to wait 7 weeks now for it to return.

If they don't pick up when it returns in April I could see next season being the last because a few episodes this season have been dangerously low especially for a channel like Fox.

Glee star Matthew Morrison has reportedly said that he is "frustrated" about being "trapped" on the show for another four seasons.
The actor and singer admitted that he had no idea about the scale of the Fox programme, or the limitations it would impose on his career, when he signed up to play Will Schuester.
"It's not ending any time soon," The Mirror quotes him as saying. "Once they have you, they trap you. I'm tied in to seven years - I signed up to seven years and I cannot get out of it.
"I have a really good lawyer but there's nothing we can do - I've had offers recently for a few really cool movies but had to turn them down. It's so frustrating.
"None of us realised when we signed up it'd turn into this - we thought it was just a show about kids singing and dancing... I literally cannot get out of it. It's a great show, it provided me with my big break, but what can I do?"
Morrison released his self-titled debut album last year and has signed to Adam Levine's label 222 Records for his new LP.
He will appear alongside the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz and Cheryl Cole in What To Expect When You're Expecting, released on May 18 in the US and May 23 in the UK.
Glee airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Fox in the US and Thursdays at 9pm on Sky1 in the UK.
He sounds so ungrateful :bored: Really wouldn't miss him if he left.

Never really liked the character of Will, they tried to make him the main character at first but it didn't work. He's just like a spare part now, I'd prefer Emma to take over Glee club.
Ninastar

Emma is amazing and terribly underused
Will was amazing for the first 12 episodes of s1. His kiss with Emma in sectionals gave me goosebumps, I don't think i've gotten them ever since.

Yeah, I love Emma, she's still great 3 seasons in. She has a good singing voice too, I'd like to see her sing more on the show.
I did like Will to begin with but now I really couldn't care less if he left or not. He's such a hypocritical grumpy character and the feuding with Sue feels old now. I think he was better when Terri was around.

Yeah, the nasty Sue was a lot better, I don't like how they've tried to make her nice all of a sudden, it just doesn't work and it's not believable. A lot of the characters though seem to have had personality transplants since the first season, Ryan Murphy is very inconsistent both storyline wise and with the characters.

Ryan doesn't really write the show anymore. It's the new writers and you can tell they have no idea how to write the characters.
like I miss feminist Tina and how she didn't take crap. I miss Brittany's funny one liners. I miss Rachel talking super fast and her singing career being the only important thing to her. None of them are the same anymore

I know but he still oversees everything and is able to make changes to the scripts if he so wishes. As the show creator he should care more about his characters and not let them have personality transplants from season to season. It just seems like he doesn't care about it anymore.
I agree with all of that. They've done nothing with Tina's character in years and she has so little screentime compared to the others. I used to love Brittany's one liners, the one about gay sharks is a classic but we don't get them anymore. Yeah, Rachel was more funnier when it was her like that, I prefer her when she's not with Finn.

yeah haha I think that's all true. Tina wasn't even in an episode and you didn't even notice a difference.

True. Still, I think it's lame how he seems to lose all interest in this show ever since his new one became a hit. He should care about all his shows equally and care about them all, it's obvious with Glee that he's past caring like you said.
Yep, she's such a nonentity these days, it's sad. I remember in the first ever episode I thought Tina would become one of the core characters and have lots of solos etc. but three seasons in and she's had one solo and one minor storyline which was shared with Mike. I feel sorry for Jenna, I bet she's annoyed herself although she does get paid well so it probably softens the blow.
I've noticed that too. It seems like a lot of thought went into the gay storyline with Kurt and it all being handled delicately but with the Brittany/Santana relationship it doesn't seem very thought out at all.

I feel bad for Jenna and Heather. Their characters are well and truly dead.
None of the girls are portrayed well on the show. They made a shambles of the Santana/Brittany coming out storyline. I love how they had to make Santana extra bitchy in IKAG just so it was fair when Finn outed her.
What I don't understand is how Karofsky is outed, and it shows how sad he feels, which leads to a suicide attempt, but when Santana is outed, she doesn't get a say in it and she is forced to be 'happy' about it. Santana had no support. Brittany didn't support her at all. It's just so wrong.

During its morning conference call, Fox finally started announcing season 4 details that Glee fans have been clamoring for.
For starters, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson are the first guests announced:
In her first return to television since “Sex in the City,” Emmy Award-winning actress and fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker will guest star in the fourth season of GLEE. Additional details about her character and storyline will be released at a later date.
To kick off GLEE’s fourth season, Golden Globe Award winner and Academy Award nominee Kate Hudson will join the cast in a six-episode arc. Additional details about her character and storyline will be released at a later date.
On the call, Fox briefly mentioned the season 4 plotline. Glee will have “a show within a show” and “follow some of the kids to New York” while introducing new characters in Ohio.
Fox also addressed moving the show to Thursdays:
“Ultimately we really want that four comedy block. Even in this day and age of DVRs, there’s a flow between comedies and we have a cohesive block. We’ve seen before that Glee is very compatible. As Glee gets more mature, we thought this was the best way to propel it through the next couple of seasons.”
More guest stars :bored: I prefer this new timeslot though, it gives them more freedom. Although it clashes with Grey's Anatomy which is always a consistent ratings winner for ABC, Glee will probably get dire ratings.

Yep, the writers are so bad on this show. It's unfair how they get paid so much to write a load of rubbish like last night's episode. They could at least make an effort to remember past storylines, subplots and character history. The continuity on Glee is terrible and the blame lies solely with the writers. Well Ryan Murphy has a say on that too but I think he stopped caring about Glee when his other show AHS became a hit.

I like the character of Sugar, she was one of the few bearable characters this season. Although it would be nice to see her back I can't see myself watching any of season 4 to really care about who comes back. Have you seen this new interview with Ryan Murphy?
http://www.vulture.com/2012/05/ryan-murphy-dissects-american-horror-story.html
He said he wants the show to become more pop culture based as if it isn't already and have more guest stars. :bored: Oh and the less characters than ever before comment is stupid because they're going to need at least 7 new characters to join the Glee club for them to be eligible for competitions, plus all the originals are staying. I think the success of his shows has gone to his head.
Tom4784
23-05-2012, 10:39 PM
The success went to his head in the second half of the first season, when you compare those first thirteen episodes to what followed the difference is shocking. The show is positively amateurish at the moment, a five year old could write more consistent and believable storylines. I've never seen a show with such botched plots.

Completely agree. It took a long break I remember in season 1 after them 13 episodes, people around in the world were just starting to become aware of it and Don't Stop Believin' was getting played everywhere on the radio and ever since it came back from that break it's been on a downward spiral and they've never been able to recapture the quality of the original 13 episodes.
