Amelle Berrabah has left the Sugababes, heatworld has just been told – and she is set to be replaced by singer Jade Ewen. Rumours that Amelle was quitting have been circulating all week, but just a few minutes ago an industry insider told us exclusively, "I've been told off the record that Jade is joining the Sugababes." Jade Ewen's record label Geffen sent an official statement out just a few minutes ago which read, "Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we regret to inform you that Jade Ewen will be taking time off from all promotional activity for the foreseeable future." Amelle has yet to release a statement confirming the news, but we will bring you any updates on this story as soon as we have them.

If you think you recognise Jade Ewen, it's probably because she competed at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest representing Britain. She was born in London, and is just 21 years old. We think she looks rather glam and very Sugababe-like in this shot.

well not a total shock, she clearly alwasy thought she was the best anyway, she just needed the Tinchy success to give her the confidence, but I'm so shocked and very disappointed she left on the eve of dropping their new album. Perhaps she isnt leaving, just doing solo stuff on the side.

I think Jade would fit quite well with the current style of the group, tho she is a bit young. It would be a shame to have to loose Jade as a solo artist.

Loads of bands retain members whilst they launch solo careers, so she might do both

BITTER Sugababe Amelle Berrabah has sensationally quit the group.
Just a week after The Sun revealed her massive bust-up with bandmate Keisha Buchanan, the 25-year-old has walked out for good.

Eurovision contestant Jade Ewen, 21, will replace Amelle in the trio alongside fellow band member Heidi Range, 26. Amelle went missing for days last week. Her worried family called police fearing she had been kidnapped.

But she had locked herself away in her North London home after a run-in with 24-year-old Keisha.

A source said: "Amelle has been desperately unhappy for a while. She was going to try and resolve things, but it must have got too much for her.

"They haven't been able to overcome their row.

"Jade is ready to replace Amelle. She is going to be shooting a video with them in Los Angeles on Monday."

Amelle is said to have become depressed over what she felt was jealousy within the group following her recent No1 collaboration with Tinchy Stryder, Never Leave You.

She also featured heavily in the raunchy video for Sugababes' latest hit Get Sexy. A spokesman for the group refused to confirm or deny Amelle's departure last night.

But Jade's record label Geffen sent out an official statement which read: "Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we regret to inform you that Jade will be taking time off from all promotional activity for the foreseeable future."

It is believed Jade is hammering out a deal with the Sugababes' record label.

Former bandmate Siobhan Donaghy - who was with the group from the start but left after a clash with Keisha - has spoken about the tyrannical regime of being in the band.

The 25-year-old said: "There was no doubt that I was pushed out. It was clear there was someone in that band who never wanted me in it - and that's Keisha.

"She made my life a living hell. I'll never forgive her. Though no one forgives that first bully in their lives, do they? No one does."

Another founder member, Mutya Buena, 24, left in 2005 for personal reasons.

They are a class group, whatever form they take.

Get Sexy is quite successful, but yeh I agree with you... they haven't been good for a while. I think the girls in Sugababes need to grow a backbone and learn how to not fall out so much, it's really pathetic.
