He's written some great music and in the 70's he reinvented music and made us look at it differently. and damn he looked cool to boot and still does at 60. He was also in my favourite childhood film Labyrith.

my favourite album of his is the rise and fall of Ziggy stardust and the Spiders from mars and my favourite tune is moonage daydream

anyone else a fan?

I'd put Low as second, Ziggy Stardust 3rd and Aladdin Sane 4th.

Earthling, however...oh David, where did it all go wrong?

Hunky Dory is truly the perfect pop record but I've always had a soft spot for Aladdin Sane, which came out after Ziggy and at the height of his fame, when he was already getting a little warped and disillusioned with the whole experience of being famous. There's a sinister and dark edge to it that gives it a coolness and grittiness that I absolutely love. It's still punctuated by the killer riffs and melodies from Ziggy, but it feels like he's dancing and singing on the edge of a huge abyss...... I love that f£cking record. lol.

Then again, I love basically everything he's done, including the Labyrinth Album. ha ha.

I have to say I don't like the cover of "Dancing In The Streets" he did with Mick Jagger.

yep not one of his greatest moments but he wasn't the only great artist to mess up in the 80's
