X FACTOR is launching a marathon TWO-HOUR show as it steps up its ratings war with Strictly Come Dancing.

The move is a blow for BBC1's ballroom hit - which had announced its own epic-length shows in a bid to KO its rival.

The two-hour live X Factor - with judge Cheryl Cole - will run from 8pm on Saturday October 10, to showcase the 12 finalists.

Strictly will air from 7.10pm to 9.15pm.

The dancing contest's first super-episode airs this Saturday, blocking all but the last 15 minutes of the X Factor.

But ITV says its own two-hour episode is designed to lure viewers FED UP by the length of the ad-free BBC1 show.

A source said: "Two hours and fifteen minutes without a break is a sore backside at the least."

Strictly was 1.4 million viewers shy of its rival's 10.1 million haul on Saturday.

Probably Robbie Williams... http://www.forumsextreme.com/images/sSic_vomitbuddy.gif

2hrs sounds reasonable to me. Maybe they could get one song from each act and then a group one or something like on AI - or maybe Cheryl will perform?

Well the first 55 mins is just Dermot saying how good the talent has been this year, the singers crying saying how much they wont this, the voice over taking up 30 mins off going "Coming up, Next Time on the X Factor", the other half of people crying over sobby songs :bawling:, and the last 10 mins is the best, as they finally pick their top 3..... welll this year is going to bad when dick and dicker get through thanks to louis stupid walsh!

It'll be interesting to see how they fill it up, maybe the wildcard rumours are true? The guest WILL be Alexandra the winner's always the first guest.

I reckon they'll be getting more guests this year. Maybe somtimes two a week. There is no way they could fill the Sunday show with just results.

Well last year for one episode they had Britney and Miley Cyrus on the same night, so they could have 2 all the time this year.

Possibility, thanks to youtube most UK reality programs are very popular in other countries.
