Overall I think that was a really good show for week 1

Usually on week one everyone is average but a fair few were actually really good tonight.. and they can only improve :)

i think it was a good choice to start of auditions in front of crowd because they had the chance to peform in front of a crowd

And those who weren't brilliant the potential could be seen from their performance

Can't remember much of the 1st live finals from previous years, but surely they couldn't be much worse than this one.

I thought last years 1st show was better(Diana's With or Without You, Laura's Fallin' etc...), but last night was miles ahead of XF 2007 First live show when Kimberley and Alesha were bottom 2.

It was a mixed bag, last year's was better. I'll have to disagree Braden, Live auditions are a terrible idea the contestants shouldn't sing in front of an audience until the live shows after they've had weeks of proper vocal training.

The reason why auditions were so sh*t this year was because they were thrown in front of an audience before they were ready.

Last night lost impact because we all knew how the audience would react to each contestant. I thought last night was alright but first 2008 live show was streets ahead. Already after the first one we can rule out most of the contestants but last year we could only really rule out 4 of them
