Ironic that for once a girl band has said he was a good mentor but the night they go out he won't be there

He definitely won't be there,if if he was in UK,he would be far too distraught to do live telly.

Maybe he's already over and will fly back later on (its only 2 hours) then fly back after the show, or might just join them tonight
